We were two couples and a one year old. Went there on Friday the week before holi. Although located in a quiet and lonely place. The property is well equipped for your stay. Food was good, could have been better. However the staff was accommodating and more than willing to help out.
This is an ideal location for your weekend getaways, lay back and enjoy the quite, pleasant weather, beautiful property, lake view, serene environment on the whole. And if u feel the need to have activity, then there was swimming, ample place to run, an ATV for those sports junkies, boating in the lake and a few more.
On the whole we loved our stay at JenJon Vaitarna and being our first time the entire experience has had a good and lasting impression.
A different experience away from city life! A place to relax n unwind. Food is limited but good, staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are decent. A few things u can do while there: boat ride and visit the Waterfall there (a staff member takes you there) and winery too. If travelling with kids, pls carry snacks they like, once there it's a long long drive to a nearby market. Overall a good weekend getaway.
Visited during long week end in the middle of March 2017. Very happy with overall experience. Felt at home and pampered. Do visit if you like nature and home together. Staff is excellent. Smiling, hardworking, efficient.
We had a group outing to JenJon Lake Vaitanra Resort for the Holi weekend, and all of us feel extremely happy about selecting this resort. This is located about 140kms from Mumbai, 27Kms from the highway (Ghoti village). The location is a remote location, due to which parts of the drive are on unpaved and uneven roads, however new roads are being laid. So expect the drive to be smoother in the future. The drive over the Vaitarna Lake is also a pleasingly rare sight for city dwellers.
The resort provides directions on how to come from the highway, as there is no network available deep inside and maps on the phone may not work. JenJon has also done a good job of having name plate at periodic distance for guidance while driving. even if the same is followed, it is easy to find.
The resort has a great view of the surroundings, including sunrise and sunset over the lake.
The resort in itself is outstanding - with well maintained facilities like the swimming pool, gardens, mango tree, dedicated camp fire area. The rooms are also neat and clean.
The staff was very friendly and courteous. Right from the booking process, services during stay and checkout we were satisfied with the services by the staff. They were kind enough to cater to any specific need - in terms of meals served, tea and snacks. No matter how much we asked for, we were not let down by them. There was never a NO from any staff.
The resort has quite a few facilities like trampoline, swings, slides, seasaw in the garden, archery, cricket kit, board games, cards, UNO, books etc for everyone to be occupied - adults or kids.
The food served by the resort, although limited is very homely, simple and delicious. We all enjoyed whatever was served out to us, although the spice / salt levels can be improved upon. There was never a problem with quantity or timing of the meals and the staff were kind to adjust accordingly.
The Vaitarna Lake is about 20mins walk from the resort through village farms and fields. They also provide for pedal boating and Kayaking facilities which are reasonably priced.
Even after the trip, the next day we were contacted by the staff as we had left a couple of hours before out scheduled checkout time, to understand if we had any concerns. But this was only to avoid possibility of running into a traffic jam, and not due to any problems are the resort or their services. We would have been happy to stay back if not for the need to return home on time.
A few minor hiccups
- Electricity went out in one of the rooms due to tripping of the circuits, but the same was immediately restored by the staff.
- There was a minor confusion over the meal, as we had asked for non-spicy food only for one item for babies. However the entire meal was cooked non-spicy. But this was later cleared with the staff.
- One of the directions given by the resort was incorrect. The direction given was to turn right before the bridge, however this is a Left turn.
Overall, this could definitely be one of the best resorts around Mumbai/Nashik area and worth visiting again.
We visited during March during which the landscapes are dry and barren owing to the weather. However, the same during monsoon must be spectacular.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, we only have praise for them. The resort is in a remote location (which can either be good or bad depending on what you are really after). Our phones did not have any network but we were able to communicate using WIFI at the restaurant.
They serve good homely food but the variety is not that great, so don't expect a lavish buffet breakfast or lunch/dinner spread.
They don't server alcohol so if you fancy a drink you need to carry your own as the nearest wine shop is miles away and I wouldn't want to venture out at night (as it is in a secluded area) and the roads are quite narrow.
Overall an average-to-good resort I think!
