Room was average in size. Staff were very serious at their work whatever we order in the room they used to bring it fast. I had my breakfast in the restaurant it was very neat and clean and the breakfast was also good. Recommendable.

Though this supposed to be one of the best hotels in Jabalpur, the rooms require some maintainence. Though a heritage hotel it is not a palace hotel. The staff was good and efficient. THe fast food joint just as you enter the hotel was excellent.

Pleasant Stay Pleasant Stay

by andy.karla on February 15, 2017

We had a one night stay here before heading off to Bandhavgarh National Park. We had prearranged for a private car and driver to pick us up at the airport. When we exited the airport building, the hotel driver was waiting with a placard with our names on it. We rather got the impression we were an inconvenience and he appeared to be in quite a hurry to get us to the hotel. The driver bumped into the car in front of him as we exited the airport and then sped back to the hotel. Arriving at the hotel he then drove fast right up to the Hotel front doors then opened his car door into a guest exiting the car next to him before disappearing. The reception girl was welcoming and always had a pleasant smile throughout our stay. Reception quickly signed us in and informed us we had been upgraded to the top suite, a pleasant surprise. The hallways are a bit dated and do not immediately give a great impression. On arrival at our room we found our suite a classic old colonial style type of room that has been updated but not completely refurbished a mix of old and new. The room had no source of heat, however we were comfortable at a room temperature of just under 21.0, and the hotel did provide extra blankets on request. The back of our room faced a rear open hallway, which had a pleasant seating areas overlooking the pool. We were shocked to discover that one of the windows from our room to hallway was unlatched. Had we not noticed the unlocked window, the safety and security of our room would have certainly have been compromised, not only while we were out of the room but also sleeping in the room. The safe in the room was inoperable, as well the fridge in the room did not work, neither was an absolute necessity so we survived without either in working order. We did find king sized bed a bit on the hard side. However, the biggest problem we faced; was the paper-thin doors that allow you to hear everything happening in the hallway. From 11:00 PM to as late as 5:30 AM we were constantly awoken by people arriving to knock on neighboring doors. They then proceeded to engage in a very loud and lengthy conversation in the hallway, disturbing us and leaving us with a very restless night! We enjoyed an early dinner at the upstairs bar over the restaurant and found the food fare quite delicious and plentiful. Breakfast buffet is mostly of Indian fare; however, they can do omelets and fried eggs, no meat. The rooms here are on the pricy side; however, hotel options in Jabalpur are somewhat limited in choice. Our stay was more or less as expected for Jabalpur. Every staff member we interacted with did their utmost to help in any way they could, a big plus in our books.

Comfortable Stay Comfortable Stay

Stayed at the hotel for a day, chose it for its proximity to the railway station. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and very clean, all amenities are provided for. The hotel staff is helpful, they booked a cab for station drop at the last minute and requested the driver to rush back to help me catch my train! The in room dining is open 24 hours and served good food. Wifi was also working well. It is a reputed hotel as people in the city know it as a landmark. Negatives- my room was next to the club or hall where a DJ was playing for some party and the music was playing pretty loudly in my room too! Tip- Please ask for a room far away from their club.

Newly renovated Newly renovated

We stay at this hotel when we have an early flight out of JLR. It saves us from fighting the morning traffic from home bleary eyed and then exhausted when we get to Delhi. The room is basically the same as always...comfortable in a fairly basic way, but the bathroom has been nicely renovated. It will be great when the water temperature is sorted out better but a tepid shower is certainly than cold. Food was a bit spicy but I am sure you could ask the kitchen to turn the heat down. I thought the breakfast was surprisingly good. The biggest upgrade this time was the brand new Toyota Crysta the hotel has purchased to take guests to the airport. Travel tip: have the hotel call the airport to see if your flight is on time. It often happens there is a delay in the winter because of morning fog in Delhi.
