Excellent place. They should have a lift as rooms are on second floor.

Hotel is on second floor with no lift. Only 1 item is made available for breakfast, though I found the parathas very good. Room is very good and place is very clean. Nice aura of the whole place. Strictly no alcohol hotel.

Very clean nicely decorated hotel. Cant find any faults. Make sure you get the address with some land mark for the driver to find. Probably the best hotel I stayed in India.

They know how to deal with space! They know how to deal with space!

by Ulrike R on January 25, 2016

The house itself has nothing to do with the Havelli kind of thing in Jaipur it's an apartment house which doesn't look necessarily inviting. Same is true for the front street. But when you walk up the stairs (don't bring heavy luggage because no one will help you) and enter the "apartment" it really becomes surprisingly precious. A huge white painted hall opens up, spacious, with a few well selected wooden chairs and couches. Wonderful. The room I've got was very spacious and again nicely furnitured in this wodden style. It was clean and the once the water was hot (it took a while because it's completely solar powered) it kept running and running. Nice after a week in freezing Ladakh :-) The staff was OK; the two guys who were around hardly spoke any English but at least were trying to be helpful ... Breakfast was so so ... but nevertheless, I'd come again!

Very Comfortable ! Very Comfortable !

I and my wife went to jaipur and stayed in bhim vilas ! it is a very neat and clean hotel with homely atmosphere. The stay was comfortable and the hotel staff was very courteous. It is located at MI road which is central to all attractions.

Nice place to stay Nice place to stay

I visited Jaipur in the month of Dec'14 with my family. Bhim Vilas is located hardly 2 km from Jaipur railway station and 2-3 km from main market. Property is well maintained and rooms are clean. hotel staff is very cooperative. Though there is no kitchen service for meals, but they provide complimentary breakfast, which is very good. There are closed by restaurants, where you can easily get nice vege food, hence not an issue. I would recommend this hotel for tourist visiting to Jaipur.

You'll feel good!! You'll feel good!!

I booked into Bhim Vilas through trip advisor after having a look at pics which totally conflicted with the tariff it offered. I was a little skeptical while booking as there were not many reviews for the property but as I mentioned, I was tempted to book it after seeing what it was offering at a very decent price. But that's not all..there was more to come! I got in touch with the owner - Ruchi, over email for arranging a cab since me & my friend (2 travel crazy girls who were on a voyage to Rajasthan :)) were reaching Jaipur Railway Station at 2 am, early morning! She assured that the taxi would be sent. The cab was waiting for us & it was a free drop off! We were happy :) We reached the hotel in the wee hours of night and for some reason i had to call Ruchi, she attended the phone call with same warmth as she had attended to my call earlier. About the hotel, as I saw it for the first time - It is a lavish bungalow located in the heart of the city - MI road, which has been converted into a bread and breakfast inn and it definitely lives up to your expectations. The interiors are beautifully done. The lobby area huge and pretty. We were happier on seeing the room, a blend of modern amenities with the essence of Rajasthan, it was spotlessly clean! A room you would want to go to after a long journey! In the morning, we were served with a modest breakfast of eggs & toast. The food was tasty :) While we were having breakfast, we were greeted by the lovely lady herself - Ruchi! After a short chit chat about our journey and travel plans, she helped us with our two day itinerary in Jaipur. She gave us tips on where & when to go, where to shop, where to eat and how to deal with the locals who try to thug the tourists! Also, she was happy to get the cabs/autos booked for us. We were booked in for two nights, but even after the check out, the staff happily allowed us to sit back in the lobby for a couple of hours while we waited for our bus to Udaipur. All in all, a lovely & warm place, a warmer host who along with her staff offers great hospitality! I am sure next time I visit Jaipur, I would not look for another place and will straight away book into Bhim Vilas! Thanks Ruchi & Team :) We had a wonderful stay.

I booked a stay here for one night before taking an early flight from the airport the next day. We were a group of four adults, 2 couples. I usually stay at All Season's but as it was short notice and we would only be staying a couple of hours over night (arriving at around 8pm - leaving at 6.00am next day) thought it would be good to try somewhere else. Unfortunately, it may well have been worth paying the extra for politeness, hospitality, lack of problems and comfort. My first difficulty was booking. Be aware Bhim Vilas comes up on different sites at different prices and when you try to confirm the price of 2 rooms for 2 couples, breakfast etc, you may not get an email until your 6th email if you email the management directly. I nearly decided to cancel this booking because it took several emails (12 to confirm actual price to avoid any ambiguity). I needed these details as we were travelling with another couple and it was their first trip to India, they wanted everything priced and really this should be a matter of one or two emails. I should have known from the 12 emails that we'd have problems but as it was booked and just for the night decided to keep it and some recent reviews sounded good. Finally, getting a rounded priced of dinner breakfast and room and booking a taxi for four with Ruchi we arrived on 25th Jan from Pushkar at around 8pm. We were quite tired as we'd been staying in Pushkar but had also travelled back and forth from Jodhpur the night before. The first thing we noticed was the stairs, if you have a disability of heavy cases not a good place. Fortunately, the caretakers helped us to carry our bags and put them in reception. I was desperate for the loo, but we had to fill in the lengthy paperwork at this hotel before doors were opened. I have to say there was no "welcome" as in other premises where when you are completely knackered you are offered a drink or your room is opened for you to dump your bags, not in this place. So we took it in turns to fill in the paperwork before being given our keys and shown to the rooms. Process took about 20 mins and then we asked about dinner, thankfully this had been prepared. Rooms were a decent size and clean as well as bathroom facility though I did not use the shower because my other half said the water was freezing!! We freshened up and Rushi called to tell me the dinner was ready but that the caretakers would take care of everything. Looking forward to our dinner we sat and waited. The men, bless them, had prepared 2 curries, rice and were preparing rotis one by one. It took a little time for us all to get rotis but not a problem, they were polite individuals and take care of reception, cooking and care-taking. The food was okay, but the worst we had in this trip to Jaipur, Pushkar, Jodhpur and Ahmedabad. The other couple did not finish their food, I did feel a bit disappointed because it was me who had booked the place. Cabbage curry was very bland, strange curry to have really. The other was some kind of aloo gobi and was an improvement but needed salt for flavour. I was just pleased to get a warm meal, it was just warm not boiling! Overall, the food was just okay and basic. I have read some of the other reviews regarding food and service and it's like it is another place maybe we were unlucky that night. We went to bed, the other couple said their sheets were stained, I told them that it was late so just put a spare cover over it. Looked at my sheets too and there was a small amount of blood also. Really wasn't happy but did not want to disturb the men, just thought I would write this review, it was cold too so I slept in my leggings and t shirt on top of the bedding. Didn't use the spare blanket as thought it would be dirty, so instead I slept in my cardigan and jacket. I was grateful I had them because it was freezing. January in Rajasthan is pretty cold especially this year, some hotels have spare blankets some have heaters. Anyway, we woke the next morning at 5am. There was a query about the price as I had emailed Ruchi. The men were going on one of the other prices on the booking sites and we had contacted her direct so my husband spent about 10 minutes sorting this out before we left. In the end they had to call her to confirm the prices at around 6 (this could have been done the night before and we could have paid up then, it might have been easier). She was not happy to be woken, spoke to my husband in a rude manner and made some comment about how many times I had emailed her!!! My husband was not impressed with her manner and he is an Indian himself. That is precisely why I had to email her because things were not clarified well. If Ruchi were on site the whole place would run better from food, to sheets to queries! In the end all was fine, but we were not impressed with the service from Ruchi one little bit. I think this could be a lovely place with more effort from the management. I think it must've been owned by somebody several years before because there was pictures of a family around and it does looked cared for with tasteful furniture and is not far from everything in Jaipur and about 15 mins from the airport which is a bonus. Ruchi who runs the place was not present during our brief stay, I was hoping to meet her. I have travelled many times to India, I have stayed in an ashram, one star to 5 star hotels, it's lovely to meet new people and have a contact in various cities. If we had enjoyed our stay here we would have referred others and also stayed again as we often travel to Jaipur (twice a year). I do appreciate kindness and service and when you are travelling with others on their first trip, people remember these kind of things. Usually people who work in guest houses, hotels are chatty. If you are a solo traveller there is none of that. I would in no way say it was 5 star. I always try to give a positive review on tripadvisor because we all have different expectations: So I would sum up by saying: Hotel clean, nicely furnished, only gripe was bedding, it was dirty, I must say had the other couple not mentioned it I was so tired I would have not checked. food okay but we ate better elsewhere, care takers efficient and polite. We usually leave a tip but on this occasion because of all the negatives and hassle in the morning neither couple did. Negatives: trying to get information by email from Manager, service lacking :(welcome, form filling etc can be done during the stay). After 3 hours on the road the first thing we needed was the loo and a cuppa! This would really improve customer service. Thankfully, our taxis were on time and no problems with the drivers at all.

Demo Trip Rooms at back may be quieter where we stayed, you can hear some family noises as I think it is also a block of flats but nothing too noisy. Check if there's a blanket or heather before bed.

by sparkyKent on February 11, 2014

Demo Trip There are around 17 rooms and all are very good. Clean and tidy. No good view from the windows though. There are two types of beds, one is a split type (red sheets) and another, single type (white sheets), The single type double bed is more comfortable. They can be distinguished buy the bed sheet colors.
