We booked a room for three adults, but upon arrival they said only 1small bed was available. They said the room 'allowed' 3 people but was actually for 2. The bathroom is small and very primitive, you do have warm water. The personnel was very friendly- which is the only positive thing to be said. This hotel is way overpriced for what you get.

How to start ? It was an horrible place for us. Please, never go there.. They said that we will have a room of 12m2, but actually we have 6 or 7. To get hot shower, you have to ask for a bucket, the toilets and bathroom were separated from the room. And "bathroom" was horrible, clean once a day, but still really really dirty. We do not have any window, bed and everything wasn't clean when we arrived. We also have BUGS in our bed, and we have lots of bugs bites on us. But, you have lots of power point in the room, which is nice. Wifi is also ok there. People there are really really bad in english, and we have a problem with them, they have to call their "big boss" to finally fix it in 3 days! It's difficult to talk with them, and they are not nice or helpful (just one guy was ok). The breakfast was ok, nevertheless, the price was way much expensive for what it deserve. Homeower, the place is not quiet, and people there are making lot of noise in the morning... For us, it was a really really bad experience. Giving them 1/5 is also giving them way more than they deserve..

I want to start with saying, this is the first negative review I have ever given. On arrival we were shown around a few different rooms and immediately the owners tried to overcharge us (we had an idea of price range from lonely planet). Eventually we took a small, dark, claustrophobic room with a shared bathroom for 500 RS. The manager was rude, unwelcoming and not very helpful. After one night we decided to leave and tried to pay with the 2000 note, which was all we had. At first the manager did not accept and then he proceeded to give us old currency. The old currency is of no value anymore, especially not to tourists who can not exchange the old currency unless they have an Indian bank account. The manager knew this and blatantly tried to scam us, when we had been paying guests. After I confronted him about it, he started shouting and but then gave us our due change. Before leaving I questioned him on this once again and he said he was only showing us the money. I will certainly not visiting Kailash Hotel again.

Staff were very polite here. We were able to book a cheap room the same day of arriving with no fuss. There was a tourist desk upstairs to give us maps/advice on booking trains. There was some difficulty with translating, but still helpful. No wifi but good location for looking around the pink fort, because of this quite noisy at night. Don't expect anything fancy but does the trick for a night.

The location was OK. Central. Apart from that, I could not even understand how they gave the room to us could even be called ready. The dustben was not even empty! can you believe that. no hot water even after i asked for it particularly while booking. Go for a couple of hours if you need to. I anyway had to check out to another place
