The Hotel Mandakini Castle is more of a Corporate hotel and not a typical 3 or 4 star tourist hotel. The room inspite of being deluxe room did not have mini bar (fridge). The hotel did not have 24 hour hot water system. I had to call everytime and wait for 30 mins to get hot water in the shower. The bathroom cleanliness was bad and I would have expected it to be of better standard and hygiene. I was initially looking at Maharani Palace but I took the advice of Travel guru executive. I suggest Travel Guru should really make an effort to visit all the hotels even before rating them 3 or 4 star facilities on the website. Also I would like to bring to the notice of Travel Guru SMT that the hotel Mandakini palace owner himself told me its a 2 star facility then how can Travel Guru rate this as a 3 star or 4 star? Overall not a pleasing stay at Jaipur Mandakini and poor advice and rating system by Travel Guru.

Parag from Jaipur, India recommends this hotel Posted:  Room Quality: 2/5 Service Quality: 3/5 Dining Quality: 1/5 Cleanliness: 4/5

I think the hotel was extremely over priced. The room sizes were pathetically small.

Ramgopal from Jaipur, India recommends this hotel Posted:  Room Quality: 3/5 Service Quality: 3/5 Dining Quality: 3/5 Cleanliness: 3/5

The Hotel is located next to Hotel Mansingh, a five star Hotel and hence easy to locate. The food served in the room does not come covered. The management has to take-up this issue. Breakfast has limited choice. The receptionists are not in a hurry and take things easily. Never hire taxi or Rickshaw from the hotel staff. They tend to double the fares. Overall good experience for the money you pay.

Sumeet from Jaipur, India recommends this hotel Posted:  Room Quality: 4/5 Service Quality: 4/5 Dining Quality: 4/5 Cleanliness: 4/5

Rooms are a bit small, but overall the hotel is a good hotel. Value for money.

MOHAMMED ADIL from Jaipur, India recommends this hotel Posted:  Room Quality: 5/5 Service Quality: 5/5 Dining Quality: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5

I was amazed to find the quality of fixutures and furnishing vis a vis tarrif of the room. Other members with me were NRIs who also carried excellent experience of hospitality and care we got from the staff. Every thing went well and we are highly impressed of the services, ambience, cleaniness and every thing in the hotel. Hope the management shall keep it up in future. wish them best.

Decent Property!! Decent Property!!

by ashishlath on September 29, 2013

This was the first time i had traveled with my girl friend and wanted to make it special without being too heavy on my wallet. Got to Jaipur at 5 am in the morning in a bus and a auto tout took us to this hotel. Bargained and got a good deal is what i thought..i later found out that it was selling cheaper on various sites online. But it was a nice and clean property. The restaurant was stingy and hardly open. Food was pathetic but rooms were good. It was an average value for money hotel.

Very Poor Service and filthy hotel Very Poor Service and filthy hotel

I made a prior booking for holiday on 31st Dec'2012, and went with my GF and couple of friends. I flew from Australia with high hopes of a neat and clean hotel accommodation. Being with friends, also added to the pressure. On reaching the hotel, I found that the rooms allocated were not what I expected, and the bathroom walls were also very dirty. There was no arrangement of hot water in Cold Winter. Coming for vacation, least one can expect is a neat and clean room and bathroom. When I complained to the Manager, he was very rude, and told me he had only these 2 rooms available for me, and if I didn't take these rooms, there will be no refund and there will be others who will take it. I was shattered. This was not a good start to my holiday. I had to stay and it was prepaid booking and I couldn't be bothered looking for another hotel at mid night. Will never go there again. The Manager however, was very rude and didn't care for how I felt or where I was going. Don't go by the looks on the website, rather avoid at least this hotel.

A mixed bag , not so good, not so bad. Take your call after reading it. A mixed bag , not so good, not so bad. Take your call after reading it.

Pros: 1.0> Posh location just crossing the massive Mansingh Palace Hotel. 2.0> A rate which is pretty reasonable at Jaipur getting a hotel around Rs 2000/- to Rs 2600/- for a single accommodation in a double room at this highly expensive state-capital that too at prime center of the city is a steal. 3.0> Food is reasonably good. 4.0> Mandakini chain hotels are pet-friendly (be it in Jaipur, Gurgaon, Kanpur, Lucknow). But.(read cons) 5.0> Reservation over phone / e-mail is very smooth. The person managing this is quite efficient and co-operative. Cons: 1.0> Extremely congested, limited car-parking space. This will give you a harrowing time. Especially if you have the misfortune to visit in marriage season; invariably one evening at least the hotel-space will be booked by a marriage party. Wherell be your car? even God cant say. And the hotel opens up in a busy street. So when you back your car from the parking, unless you are assisted by the parking attendants, you are going to get some jerks and jumps in heart and lots of sweat. 2.0> Room AC did create a problem. We had to call the electrician / attendant in the dead of night. However they rectified it partially. 3.0> Now hotel officials may be accommodating towards pet, staff are not. Kindly note that this hotel has no lawn, no sprawling campus. If you take your pet, for its strolling and other purposes, the only space available is hotel-terrace. So you have to request the hotel staff to keep the terrace door unlocked and bribe a staff to get the terrace cleaned or clean yourself. You cant take the pet downstairs as it opens up in a busy thoroughfare. So even if the hotel behaves pet-friendly, facilities available are not so. 4.0> During my stay the card machine did create a problem. So I had to be accompanied by a hotel staff, cross the super-busy MI road in sweltering heat, go to an ATM, take out cash, came back, paid and checked out. Kindly ask the latest status of the card-swapping machine in the hotel before you decide to book of course not a matter if you carry enough cash. But in a city like Jaipurcard machine not working(!!!???)
