A Huge Disappointment A Huge Disappointment

by Caroline W on February 15, 2017

I wouldn't stay here again if you paid me. After 2 days of inedible food and sullen, unhelpful reception staff, I fled to the comforts of Samode Haveli - twice as expensive but a much needed boost. This hotel used to be good but it seems the owners and management couldn't care less now. Palladio bar and restaurant, attached to the hotel is great and the management is completely different, which makes sense. So stay somewhere else and just visit Palladio and also the lovely, design-led shops also in the grounds.

Great visit ! Great visit !

Had a great holidays at Narain Niwas palace. The staff is amazing and always very helpful. Any requirement was satisfied very quickly. The rooms are large and comfortable. The decor and architecture is very typical and one should visit the gardens. Birds wake you up with their delightful song at 8am. Much better than your daily alarm. The palace is very central to Jaipur. Finally while the hotel was full it never felt crowded or busy.

A lovely stay A lovely stay

I stayed at this lovely heritage hotel during the lit festival as per the recommendation from my friend from Jaipur. The room was well maintained and service was really good. It could get a bit cold at night in winter though. They have a lovely bar attached to the hotel as well. The only downside would be breakfast which is served at a very dim musty hall

Poor service and terrible food Poor service and terrible food

We stayed one night at Narain Niwas. We arrived at the hotel a little after 9pm and everything was on the verge of closing - the front desk was unmanned and we had to call the staff to check us in. We rushed to dinner, which was closing and we were rudely informed that only three items on the menu were available. The rooms were on the ground floor and while we were terribly jet lagged and wanted to sleep in, there were voices and hustle and bustle from 6am, literally a few feet from our door - and all very loud. Hot water was not available and breakfast was terrible - stale cornflakes, cold paratas and the coconut chutney for the uthapam was all spoilt. Upon calling the staff to our table for a second cup of tea, they just refused to move and stared right back. Terrible experience. Really not worth the money, and surely not an experience to remember, given the rest of our trip after checking out of this hotel was fantastic.

Beautiful structure Beautiful structure

This palace cum hotel has a wonderful facade and even more beautiful interiors and rooms . We came here to have laal maas on recommendation. Of a local friend from rajasthan palace ..since niros etc didn't pass muster and we didn't quite gave it a thumbs up . Laal maas comes at a princely price of 70prs plus taxes which is at 900rs odd for a decent portion and they do a delectable job of it as per the recco.. They specially procure mutton fresh from.kanota;a place where the prince of narain niwas hails from ..and make it only fresh .served also as a part of the buffet they have set out for 1100rs per person which is rather fair ..served in their garden restaurant with tents and rajasthani music for entertainment live.. I preferred their front facade entry setting for coffee..tete a tete and Italian grub..more classy More stylish and more royal.. Their bar called palladio is possibly the best looking bar of india..it's that good.and that royal ..that majestic and ND that stunning ... Decent rates We also had a look at their rooms available at 8k plus .trifle expensive but worth it for the royal feeling at a lower rate than many other more expensive getaways. Do try ..

Demo Trip Ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Mine was on the first floor at the front and each night was noisy.

by superblossom on May 17, 2016

Demo Trip If you are a light sleeper don't take a villa in the grounds, dogs barking all night!
