Pritesh from Jaisalmer, India recommends this hotel Posted:  Room Quality: 3/5 Service Quality: 1/5 Dining Quality: 1/5 Cleanliness: 2/5

I think my rating sums it all up. Very disappointed with the services. I was happy when I reached there and was promptly upgraded to a so called super deluxe Tent. Well I still don't understand why they call it super deluxe. Starting from the basics. In my itinerary it was mentioned we are entitled to Breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. Now of course they don't say that it would be same food everyday so they are not really expecting you to stay for more than one day and their definition of afternoon tea, well I still don't understand. We arrived there around 1.00PM and was expecting some afternoon tea in next hour-2-3 or something but obviously NOT. we were told that afternoon tea is served after the camel safari which was supposed to be at 4.00PM, it started at 5:00. We were back in tents by 6.30 or so, still no sign on afternoon tea. At 7.30 we were given smallest possible cup of tea and a small plate of POHA(sort of fried rice flakes). That was it for afternoon tea and snacks at 7.30 PM. Now they mentioned the bon fire and music program. Supposed to start at 7.00pm and it did but there was no bon fire. When I inquired they told us that the guy who brings the diesel for the camp didn't come that day so no bon fire. My guess was there were few people so they didn't bother. Next day in morning we got breakfast, can u guess what??? it was poori and aloo and tats all for breakfast. You don't expect that for a 3* facility. But well thats all and this was 9.00 in morning and now u guessed it right afternoon tea was not to be served till 7.30PM. They don't have a restaurant and there is no restaurant anywhere nearby. My friend and I went all the way to jaisalmer to have a decent meal. Don't forget Jaisalmer is 45kms from the camp. Well I can go on writing but I think you got the idea. I was very disappointed with The Oasis Company.

Best Camp Best Camp

by Capt Suresh S on January 23, 2017

We stayed here as a family and before that I stayed for a week as a photographer at this wonderful camp run by Colonel MP Singh who is veteran of the Indian army and that's why he manages this camp as the best in Sam Sand Dunes area where there could be more than 60 camps and most are horribly organised and only part of "fleecing apparatus". This camp is proof of good efficient camp. Also it's location is the BEST which is bang opposite to the dunes, so if one wishes to only walk to the dunes one can easily take a relaxed walk. Though the Camp organises camel rides as well and one must hire camels through the camp otherwise one ends up paying much more than what one pays through camp which may look more in the start. It also ensures reliability. Loved the food and clean linen. It has running hot water in the morning. Nice cultural program to entertain guests in the evening...It's a good experience. We shall highly recommend this place to stay and Enjoy at Sam Sand Dunes. Just close your eyes and stay here. And Colonel is always around except if he goes home for his personal work. I love the place for its location and overall experience... I shall be there to stay next season for sure.

Bad service, overrated Bad service, overrated

by nikytravelsdworld on January 11, 2017

We stayed there on 5th jan for a night. It was a serious disappointment. Staff, services, quality of tents, food, cultural activities. There's no taste or class to it. It's all very ordinary infact cheap for it's tarriff. Food specially is bad quality. Stale food, rewarmed or fried and served. Very few things on the menu and even stones or sand grains in rice/ curry. Complimentary breakfast is so bad and no choice. Welcome drink is given only when you ask for it, that too chilled pepsi on a cold january evening. Wash area is too bad and no hot water supply in the evening if you want to take a shower. No lights in the tent, only laltanes to make it look fancy but believe me it doesn't. Linen is smelly and dirty. Cheap singers and dancers are called for cultural evening who quote whatsapp cheap shayari and sing only popular filmy songs with rajasthani touch. In the land of Manganiyars and kalbeliyas you expect some more. Overall very bad experience.

We stayed her on the 25th-26th of december 2016. The tents were clean and tidy. The food was simple but it was good. The camp site is really nice. The staff is good . The evening cultural program was very nice.

Well organized and nice experience Well organized and nice experience

Everything was well organized. Camel safari was very nice during sunset. Food is only Rajasthani food like daal-bati. Should have more options. Tents are clean and hot water is available in morning. Nice cultural program.

Excellent stay for an unique experience Excellent stay for an unique experience

Stayed at the tents at Oasis Desert camp on a wintery night. Staying at the tent is an unique experience. The Swiss tents are spanking clean (both room and washroom) and there was abundant supply of hot and cold water. The location is excellent, just next to the sunset point. The local cultural program is also nice. Food is Rajasthani veg. Excellent value for money; however rates are cheaper if you book thru travel sites, instead of directly booking with the tent.

Demo Trip Take the cottages at front 01 till 05 which have stone walls and tent roof. They are much more comfortable compared to the tents
