Chokhi Dhani, Jaisalmer is an excellent hotel with a good Jaisalmer desert experience. It has a village, just like the one in Jaipur just a bit smaller than the Jaipur Village. The hotel has only Swiss Tents for travelers staying at the resort. The staff of the hotel was a real positive point for it, as they were very eager to please the guests. We actually reached the hotel very late because of bad weather, the resort staff was especially waiting for us. They performed especially for us when all other guests had gone back to sleep. The food hot and tasty and the staff literally forced us to eat, as though we were having dinner at some relative's place. Although the swiss tents were not as good as we had expected. The bathroom was average in cleanliness and very basic in facilities. Overall, we had a memorable stay at the hotel and I would definitely recommend this hotel to any traveler who wants to enjoy Swiss tents and a Jaisalmer hospitality and village experience.

During our visit to this place, we lost our high end mobile … we literally lost all the hopes of getting it back but the management went all out to help us. As per the management, one of the management trainee had stolen it & They found the guilty and returned our mobile back almost after 15 days of our stay. This definitely stands with the Chokhi Dhani reputation… Just for safety, in any of such tent services, make sure that none of your valuables are unpacked while you go out for some activity.

It was a wonderfull experience. It is the best swiss tent available. However very expensive compared to service offered

Not what we expected - needs structured programme of entertainment Not what we expected - needs structured programme of entertainment

We arrived and were greeted warmly and directed to our tent without any issues - we were advised that a snack and tea would be provided a little later - this arrived with a smile and was quite tasty. The tent I would rate as superior quality - very comfortable (but perhaps more then 1 pillow per person would be better), everything was working fine, no faults. We went for the camel ride and extended the ride - was fantastic and enjoyable - great to see the sun set over the dunes. When we returned to the resort - we and others did not seem to understand the structure - I was expecting to have a cultural experience but found a series of disjointed performers and everyone walking around not really sure what was meant to happen. Dinner should have been a set time so that everyone in the camp would come together and have a more lively experience - as it was awkward when you are one a few people in the food area - especially when the staff are aggressive with pushing for tips - waving notes in front of you when clearing things is not appreciated - tips should be for service delivered not by coercion. If structured correctly then everyone could socialise and explore any organised displays as a group which is more fun.. Sadly we could not see any point to anything and simply watched some television and went to bed. If events could be structured then I think it would be much more entertaining.

Excellent Dsert Camp, Will surely consider staying again, Highly Recommended. Excellent Dsert Camp, Will surely consider staying again, Highly Recommended.

If you are travelling to Sam Sand Dunes and looking at Desert Camp, there are plenty of choices, from Basic tent in a barbed wire fence compound to a modern, luxurious cabin surrounded by a colorful compound wall, a grand entrance, a village like set up with a lot of props. Chokhi Dhani is one such place and we enjoyed the stay. The cabin was very well fitted with modern, comfortable amenities set in the way of a traditional Rajasthani village/home. We had typical Rajasthani dinner, sitting cross legged on floor, and in the night there were cultural activities. Very easy for families to stay and enjoy. Explore on Camel and then take a Jeep safari ride into the Desert. Highly recommended.

Average place, poor management Average place, poor management

Not typical of what you would expect from a Choke Dhani (when you compare with their other resorts), but nonetheless, a good place taking into account the location. Food is reasonable, entertainment is average, but management is poor, beware of the management trying to take extra money on account of single verses double accommodation, they don't have any single tents, all the tents are double, deluxe tents are better than swiss tents.

worst place and managent I have seen in Chowki dhani camp worst place and managent I have seen in Chowki dhani camp

If you are planning to visit Sam sand dunes please never go to Chowki dhani camp. We had been to Jaisalmer twice. We been there in December 2015 and that was the fabulous experience Therefore we decided to go there in December 2016 also. Thought that Chowki dhani would be good place and we will have the same experience again. Trust me, the decision to check-in in chowki dhani was the wrong decision made by us as it was the boring and irritating place in jaisalmer. Generally if you go to any resort in Sam you will have Rajasthani folk music, dance, snacks etc. However if you go chowki dhani you will not have anything. The evening was so boring that we had to go to another camp for some entertainment. Not only we there were another couple next to our room they were also sitting outside their room to talk to us as there is nothing you could do there in evening. If you want to sleep in a room then go there else do not expect anything else from them. Not only that, we requested them to get the dinner in rooms as we were late and were unable to had dinner by 10. So we asked to them bring the dinner in our room and the manager denied it completely. As per him if you want dinner you need to visit the dinner area else they will not provide you dinner at any cost. After having so much conversation with the manager and staff finally they have provided the dinner. We paid more than 5000 Rupees for a room which has no TV, no entertainment in the evening, dinner at 11 after so much requests and the worst management ever. Its better they should close this place else people will not have any faith in Jaipur chowki dhani also.

A dream in the desert.... A dream in the desert....

I spent one night in this magnificent desert camp. The place for excited exceeded my expectations in terms of ambiance food and entertainment... The food was awesome. The hosts charming and the entertainment a dream ..we went Camel riding and sliding down dunes,we listened to music and saw dancing that added to the dreamy essence of the place..plenty of places to go for walks and the tents were absolutely fantastic.... beautiful and comfortable yet kept up with the spirit of the place......
