The positives: Very good rooms, A/C, TV, bathrooms. Very good restaurant for breakfast. Very good swimming pool. Good TT and snooker Food quality is good. Good wi-fi but password change required every 2 hours. Not so positives: Very expensive food. A meal for 2 adults/2 kids is 1000/- min. 1 litre bottle of bisleri is 92/- incl taxes No place closeby to go and eat, need to drive to the city. Reception desk is managed with 2 ppl who r busy most of the time with guests. Try considering : If you are planning 2 nights in jaisalmer then you can stay one night in palace and one night in village. Village is well made but it can get chilly in the night so carry enough woolens in winter. Be warned: When you are buying the choki dhani village dinner and cultural program option, you get 1 km camel ride free from hotel to the beginning of the sand dunes. After that the camel guy will ask you to get down or pay, by saying that the hotel package covers only 1km. Post that he will try and fleece you for 1000/- per camel. Better negotiate at the hotel itself since the camel ride will definitely take you for a 'ride'. even the hotel manager will look the other way if you complain, saying that it is your responsibility to negotiate with the camel owners. My suggestion : Try and pay 250/- per camel to continue the ride for 1 more km. 2. Dont buy camel skin hats - they start stinking with the sweat. 3. Dont go visiting the lake, it is fully a waste of time. 4. Glass/pots made of fossil stone are famous in jaisalmer. They claim that if you keep JUST milk overnight, without mixing with the curd, it turns into curd the next day. Worth a try. Have a good stay!
