Its near the tourist places like Gadisar lake, Sonar Fort etc. in City Jaisalmer! Rooms are good and comfortable beds. Not much variety of food available here! View of Fort at night from rooftop is amazing!
Staying at Dylan has been a great experience. Cozy and equipped rooms. Hot water, terrace and nice view, what else you can ask to it? Even better organized tours, strongly recommend the dessert trip with them!!
We were looking for a place to celebrate new year and finalized Jaisalmer. Seems we were late as most of the properties were already booked and we settled for Dylan guesthouse because of availability as well as good TA reviews. Spoke to Dylan people on the phone a couple of times and got satisfactory answers to the questions we asked. We had booked standard rooms and found it congested on check-in. Discussed this with Rajiv and got the room upgraded to deluxe by paying extra amount. The deluxe room was spacious but still would rate it as average. Maybe that is because we are used to staying in hotels and guesthouses are not supposed to provide the same level of ambience and experience. The rooms and the bathroom did not have hooks to hang clothes and the hot water was really not that hot. Enough said about rooms. The wifi was patchy. Rajiv was the person we interacted with and found him amiable, helpful, and wise. His inputs made our Jaisalmer stay memorable as he guided us well. He also helped us with cabs and overnight desert camping arrangements at highly reasonable prices. He did not try to sell us anything, and interacted with us as a friend. We had a situation where my friend lost his keys. This could have been a big set-back for our road trip but Rajiv got a new one made in an hour. Full-marks to hospitality. The roof-top cafe has a nice view to Jaisalmer fort and serves a variety of cuisines. The cook was a friendly person as well. Overall I would suggest that you stick to eggs and bread. We were there for 3 days and there issues here and there, but overall a great stay.
Dylan cafe and restaurant was a nice stay in Jaisalmer. Friendly staff and good location. We spent Christmas day there and the hosts put on a christmas dinner for us. A delightful little outpost in the desert town.
No free breakfast (despite what the description here and hostelworld say) and the worst coffee I have ever tasted. Staff friendly but dont appreciate them coming into our room at almost midnight to take photos of our passports. Just a clean and cheap place to crash.
