This hotel really falls between a rating of three and a rating of four. It is a large modern hotel located on the edge of Jaisalmer. The designer has done a good job in making it consistent with the character of the city. The courtyard is attractive but the pool water was murky so not enticing. The room was pleasant and comfortable but there was a problem with the hot water. Over our 2 days/nights there, neither of us could get a decent shower. The water was either boiling hot or tepid. I loved Jaisalmer with its fantastic fort and havelis but was disappointed the location of the hotel, distant from characterful Jaisalmer. The food was satisfactory but the dining room itself was featureless - like a big hall.
Excellent service &
food, very helpful staff .
Good location, every body enjoy the hotel accommodation and service. Specially
hotel GM Mr.Praveen Pathak he is very helpful person and good man. Hotel rooms are very good. Everything is excellent. Very good experience in this hotel.
We booked this place through our agent and were not sure of this stand alone hotel , but things unfolded as a bouquet of surprises as we entered into this palace .
This place is unique in all aspects and should not be compared to five star hotels . Its a delicately managed hotel with lovely staff who are ready to go to any miles to make you feel at home .
Our Room was beautiful with some traditional painting at the walls which reminds you of rich heritage and arts which are vanishing from our country , the ceiling has some wonderful floral paintings which looked so alive .
The food which was prepared by Chef Govind singh was out of this world , he took us through the gastronomy tour of rajasthan and made us eat so me of the less known dishes , Papad Methi ka saag , Laal Maas , Kair Kadhi , Bajre ka churma and many more . We left our menu planning to his able hands after tasting our first meal from his hand .
The management has also ensured that the evening has activities like magicians , puppet shows & Live music to keep you engaged .
Over all Thumbs up and keep up the good job .
Well talking about desert tulip, the thing which surprises me is that, why rating for this property are so high.....i m a regular to Jaisalmer, been their atleast 8-10 times, and tried almost all big resorts.
This time also, desert tulip was not my preference, booked due to non-availability in my preferred resort, visited there with my family in Jan'16.
And talking about pros & cons:-
1. Beautiful property.
2. Located on highway, just before the main city.
3. Gr8 staff, very polite & gentle.
1. Not at all value for money, you can get far better properties at this price.
2. Service not upto the mark, their main focus is on corporate/group travellers, u will feel as if u r lost in the jungle.
3. Not much in-house activities to pass ur time.
4. Very Very small activity/game room.
5. OK Food, nothing gr8.
6. Toiletries not wort for the price.....
7. Internet won't work, though they will provide u a password.
Conclusion:- U can book if u r in group, might get a good deal or in case of non-availability in other resorts.
Everything about Desert Tulip is extraordinarily good. All the staff of the hotel are fantastic. However, Sunny from the front office is remarkable with his assistance to the guests. The property is sprawling and beautiful. Love the view from the terrace. Awesome F&B dept, comfortable and clean rooms. Amazing architecture. Carvings are mesmerising. A good comfortable stay!
All the best to the team of Desert Tulip and keep up the good services.
