My first trip to Jaisalmer was really testing me. I decided the trip in the last minute and surfed the net for my accommodation and my adventure over there. Somehow I zeroed-in Haveli Hotel. The hospitality at the Hotel were too good. However the quality of the rooms, dining hall and the approach road to the Hotel, were not pleasant. The trip arrangements to the Desert and the hospitality over there were excellent (ignoring the rates, which i found bit on the higher side). Had a nice time with colleagues at Jaisalmer. Food was too good (though some of them were bought from outside). Okay, thats it.

I stayed in the hotel for few nights, iit was beautiful, the room was nice and tidy, big bad, hot shower... But really amazing about this place is the people running it. They welcomed me, they help me with whatever i needed, and we interesting conversations.. Thank you guys! See you!! Ofry
We, I and friends, stayed here for two nights. Centrally located, the hotel was easily accessible and established in decent surroundings. Keeping the budget price of the hotel in consideration, the rooms were spacious and decorated reasonably well. We booked them online, but we felt good when Barkat(owner) exhibited right signs of generosity by upgraded them to a better room since they were vacant for that night. Seriously, who bothers to go this deep into hospitality unless you are committed to it wholly? I know one thing well if your experience at a hotel begins well it continues well. Something similar we experienced here also. Our first interaction and Barkat did hit the top fraction of the hospitality scale straightaway. We reached quite late, but he made sure that their restaurant on the top floor serves us till late and adequately. The story doesn't end here, Issack, the other owner, and brother of Barkat drafted a tailor-made plan of touring Jaisalmer desert for us. He arranged a desert safari, BBQ, DJ, and camp stay for us in the Thar desert. It was undoubtedly a great experience, and dune bashing for any tourist is a must activity. And ask Issack, there was something extremely fantastic for the explorers that included trek thru the desert with the camel, and the herder will cook and arrange your night stay under the starry and open sky somewhere remote. The second day, we wanted to taste the local food and explore the bazaars for local shopping. Barkat made sure that he came along wherever possible and guided the local shop owners on how to take care of our palate & needs beautifully. It was a grand gesture seriously. I have never seen anybody taking so much of stress and interest in making your stay comfortable. If you happen to stay here, please ask Barkat that where is the great Kachoriwala next to the fort and the local sweet shop named as Ranmal. Believe me; you will thank Barkat and me once you taste their dishes. The servers at the hotel were attentive and polite. They all go an extra mile to make your stay memorable. The food was authentic, tasty and served with great warmth. Prices of the rooms were extremely reasonable. We wouldn't have stressed shelling out extra bucks for the kind of hospitality we experienced here. Summing up, I would say "Keep up good work guys, " and I am sure you will go miles and I would visit you again someday.
The very young and enigmatic young man named Barkat Ali Khan is one of the custodians of the Hotel Haveli at Jaisalmer and is ever ready to sweep you off your feet with his inimitable hospitality and his clockwork precision planning and execution of the travel plans at the desert. The hotel offers a very comfortable stay with a very traditional and yet contemporary interiors. While sipping the morning tea from suite rooms, one can get a clear view of the "Sonar Kella" or the fort which has been made a household name by the Satyajit Ray blockbuster. It is located very conveniently, very close to the Jaisalmer railway station and is actually in the heart of the small city. The travel plans at the desert is another WOW. On the way to the Sam desert there is this deserted village called Kuldhara which has a very touching story associated wth it. The deserted village is being restored currently. Once the desert is reached the camels and open hooded jeeps take over to give you ride of your life and the more adventurous may opt for dune bashing. There is a cultural program of traditional Rajasthani song and dances in the evening followed by a traditional dinner complete with the delicacies like Dal Bati Churma. The night can be spen in the tents for the complete desert experience. The change in weather from very hot to quite cold happens just after sundown. The ride back to the city the next day would make you gear up for the next visit. Three cheers for Hotel Haveli and its wonderful team!
