Extremely lousy service standard and unprofessional attitude of the management (Owner). We had booked an AC Maharaja room before reaching the place. On arrival the owner started acting funny and said that there was no vacancy. On insisting he made us stay in some other room. Later on we realized that almost the whole hotel was unoccupied and they deliberately played the trick to keep the best rooms available for the foreign tourist at higher rates. During the night we were waken up by the owner and were asked to switch off the AC as he felt that the winter is already on. Whole night there was sounds of people speaking, music etc. and we could not get a good night sleep. When we were checking out the next day extra love was ushered on us just to ensure that we don't write a bad review. I have refrained from recommending this place to any of my friends and peers ever since my visit and advice the same to you. There are many many other options within the fort to try out but AVOID BOOKING THIS PROPERTY...
This review is long due, but we still cannot forget the hospitality. The best place we stayed in India! First of all this beautifully preserved haveli is like a palace. Not only you are in the hearth od the Jaisalmer Fort (which is extremally convenient), but you stay in a place which is truly amazing. If you want to treat yourself like a king or to spoil your loved one, stay in the Shreenath Palace. We made a reservation for a Maharaja room and were not disappointed. The room itself looks like one of the palace rooms. It is beautifully decorated and clean with a huge bathroom. My wife was speechless. As a child you have probably heard a lot of Orient stories. This place belongs to them. The Shreenath Palace is run by a charming family who will make you a delicious breakfast each morning. Mr Om was going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Coming to Jaisalmer and staying outside of the Jaisalmer Fort is a big mistake and choosing to stay in a regular hotel versus experiencing one is another.
Incredible opportunity to stay in a beautiful Haveli run by a charming family. Located inside the fort and just steps from the Jain temples, a stay here is like a dream. We choose the maharaja room and would highly recommend it. The owner in particular was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great breakfast included. Don't miss an opportunity to stay here.
This is a must-stay fabulous little haveli inside the fort in Jaisalmer. The room was beautiful, with intricate carvings, and appeared to be a few hundred years old. Breakfast is simple, but adequate - usually toast and jam, with chai and curd. The bathroom is fantastic - airy and light - you really feel like you're staying in a palace. The best part, though, was the staff. They picked us up from the train station after midnight for free, and we were welcomed by the owner, Mr Om, with gifts. Throughout our stay, Mr Om was invaluable in helping us to navigate Jaisalmer, and to point us to some great places and shops to visit (rather than get sucked in by the usual tourist traps). Also, when we arrived, my partner was quite sick, and Mr Om and the staff were fantastic in helping us with everything they could to get him better.
The Shreenath Haveli is one of the best places I've stayed at during my travels in India - the hospitality and openness of Mr. Om and his sons is amazing and they were constantly asking about anything they could do for me to make my stay better or more comfortable. For example, when the wifi died, they recharged a mobile dongle and let me use that for my last night. It was fantastic - above and beyond. The only negative was that the rooms at the front of the Haveli can be noisy - inside the fort, you are living in close contact with people and through the night the dogs can be irritating, but this is nothing that the property can control - it's part of the Jaisalmer experience - but be aware that you might like to consider one of the non street facing rooms if you're a light sleeper. I can't recommend this place enough - if it's in your budget and you've come all the way to Jaisalmer, I'd definitely say you must stay inside and you must stay at Shreenath.
