Mismanagement Mismanagement

We went with group of friends and had booked 3 tents. The tents were neat and tidy and spacious. Day time it was too hot inside tents and they did not provide us with even fans on our several request they provided us only single fan so basically 7 of us had to stay in one tent for daytime. The power also went off several times leaving us sweating and panting. Evening was better, the cultural programme arranged by them was awesome. But again as the cultural programme ended and we went for dinner we were really disappointed as the food was cold and fell short. Many food items were finished and lot of people could not eat. Breakfast was very simple but atleast got to eat properly.

To conclude our Rajasthan tour we had booked tents at this Camp. We reached there in the night at 8 pm. At the outset there was a confusion on the number of tents. We had booked 7 and got 5. With difficulty and some time things got sorted out, thanks to a staff named Alladin (don't laugh) we managed to get all 7, albeit not in a row. The tents were average unlike the Swiss type we were expecting. There was a small veiled porch followed by a double bed, and a canvas door leading to a bath. Maybe we had run our expectations too high but overall looked a bit run down. It was quite cold but we were provided with a blanket. We needed much more! Blaring music and some local belles dancing could not raise our spirits much. Dinner was average and the night was a bit uncomfortable. Hot water is available only from 7-10 am. A bit of a dusty bathroom it was! Breakfast was fairly good but after a mutual decision we decided to cut short our stay in the camp by a day. A word of advice. Do not go there with very high expectations. Overall an average experience which had the potential for great improvement.

When you enter the camp area its a very different kind of set up. All the camps are lined up together , in the middle there is a huge circle where in the evening a folk show is performed . The camps are neat . You get an attached bathroom with the camp. We faced one problem . We traveled during January so it was very cold out there . The hot water given to us was of no use because it was not at all hot. Water there is very salty so it is advisable to carry your own mineral water bottles. Apart from that you get complimentary dinner and breakfast which is ok-ok. They can improve the food . The folk dance in the evening was also good . Camel ride is also complimentary for the camp guests.
