Indifferent service Indifferent service

by kunal b on December 29, 2017

Location- The Camp is located on the main Highway amongst a row of similar type of camps jostled next to one another. The sand dunes are located about 3km away. Cleanliness- This can be best summed by the attached photo which shows that all the dust is swept under the bed. Experience- The service is indifferent. Everyone is trying to sell you a jeep safari (1500/- per jeep) or a camel safari. The complimentary camel safari is a basic package and they charge approx 450 per camel to go to the better dunes. We had to ask for everything from towels in room to tea in the morning. No one bothers to inform you and it is a mechanical kind of experience. We reached at 1500hrs and there was loud DJ music blaring through cheap speakers. We told them to lower the volume as we had small kids who wanted to nap. But no response from their end. The cultural programme was good but gradually degraded in to drunk dance party (they sell liquor bottles at inflated rates, though it seems that they do not have a license). Also hot water is a misnomer. Luke warm water is only available in the morning for 2 hours, when it is freezing cold in the desert. Food- The food preparation was good. They have a vegetarian buffet with emphasis on Rajasthani food. The queues can be a bit long towards the end as they have limited seating capacity. Overall- We are no fans of loud and cheap songs, which was the biggest letdown for us. We wanted a serene experience in the desert, which these camps do not provide. My suggestion is to look for an isolated camp, which can allow you to experience the serenity and calmness that a desert can offer. The morning camel safari and evening jeep safari (more of dune bashing) are must do activities and but can be booked independently too.

Amazing experience of Tent Amazing experience of Tent

We have stayed here for 1 night and it was really wonderful experience. We were 2 couple with 3 small kids and each and every member enjoyed a lot here. The Manager & Staff was very nice and helpful. The food was delicious. The most beautiful thing here was the cultural event at night. Artists were so talented. Really enjoyed that. And the experience of tents was wonderful, attached toilet was neat and clean. Hot water was there. So overall a awesome experience. Weather was not good in the morning, rain was there from midnight and weather was so chilling cool but our stay in tents was comfortable

Life time exprience Life time exprience

I stayed in this camp for one night , the camp was very comfortable, tent was very clean and spacious and provided with Rajasthani food . After the evening snacks we were taken to sand dunes nearby for watching sunset . Though we were afraid to ride the camel, the person handling the camel encouraged us to take the ride. Surprisingly we enjoyed it. The evening entertainment by artist was very good . A candle lit dinner was arranged which was also equally good, but my only suggestion is the tables should be arranged family wise and not mix more than one family. The tents were lit in the night and it was magical. I would definitely say this was the highlight of our entire Rajasthan trip

The place is located 40 kilometers from Jaisalmer. They offer breakfast +dinner, stay in tent, cultural programme and camel safari included. The food was okay. Tents were clean but there was no mosquito repellant and charging plug so I recommend taking odomos cream along with you. Tents were clean with clean bathroom
