Feeble. Feeble.

by frenchteddywww on February 7, 2017

I very disappointed by most aspects of my night there and it would have been a waste except for the company of 2 friendly dogs. I was the only client that night and I would have expected some attention to detail given the fact. After being told that there were no guest rooms in the main heritage building, because it is the maharajah's residence, I was shown to my "superior room" in an outbuilding. Spartan. There was no bath mat or hand towels in the bathroom, the amenities were poor. No water bottle, no tea making facilities and no telephone to request anything. Worse, my pillows had a nasty whiff of stale tobacco, indicating that smokers had slept there and that they had not been aired. The grounds need attention and they seem to be building a swimming pool. There are in my opinion more urgent priorities in this place and I would not recommend it.

A wonderful retreat A wonderful retreat

What a charming retreat nestled in a wooden sanctuary. A great staging point to discover the stunning mosques of the old Kingdom of Champaner and the hustle bustle of the temple at Pavagadh. It was astounding to us that we were the only people at almost all the heritage sites - a real hidden treasure. We were lucky enough to meet with our hosts and were regaled of times gone by. The property has a wonderful old world charm and the rooms though not in the old Palace are comfortable with modern bathrooms.

Good place for an overnight stay! Good place for an overnight stay!

We stayed at the Jambughoda Palace after visiting Pavagarh. The palace is tucked away and close to nature. Food was decent and the AC deluxe room had everything we wanted. Nothing extravagant but would not expect anything like that in a small palace resort. Overall we liked the place and the hospitality. Met a few couples over breakfast and they mentioned that the Non-AC rooms (which are more traditional) are not maintained as well. But we found the AC Deluxe rooms well maintained.

Now you are truly in India. Our room was simple not in the Palace but had a good bathroom. The Maharaja took the time to meet us and he and his family were very welcoming. Meals were served in the outdoor restaurant and although simple they were generous. For dog lovers this was a treat with pups abound! Please do not expect 5 star Palace comfort or cuisine this is a rural farmland area with a big heart.

An Ideal Place for Retreat An Ideal Place for Retreat

by rkkhandelwal54 on December 30, 2016

The vast natural expanse is an ideal place for a laid back retreat. The sprawling area has decent accommodation and home cooked meals are served with personal touch. The fields attached to the place are an ideal place for walks and exploring the trees and birds around the place. Making the place a base one can visit various places of interest both as tourist, tribal exploration and wild life. The overall management of the place requires more supervisory control which shall make the stay better for visitors. Some facilities which need immediate improvement are provision of running hot water, laundry, in-house telephone service.
