If you want to explore Jammu ''The City Of Temple's'' you can book Hotel Jammu Ashok which is near to all Famous places like - The Hari Palace, Bahu Fort, Bagh e Bahu, Kol kandoli Mandir. One of the best things of this hotel is that the rooms are very neat and clean with all modern facilities. Moreover the Staff is very helpful which is one of the best thing.
Hotel though was out of town and opposite to Hari Niwas palace and beside wildlife sanctuary. I stayed in Deluxe room so the room was good. Service was bit slow but manageable. since the occupancy of this hotel is quite low so dont expect breakfast buffet.
Hello everyone....I wanna share some useful review regarding best hotels in Jammu....for family ,for couples and for all kind of other peoples....
1) if ur budget is good enough so you stay in hotel ashok per night 1000-2500 fares also varies by time ..
2) if u want to stay in luxury hotel you would also have a good choice of (Asia hotel)
Stayed in Jammu Ashok a couple of months ago. Found best hotel in low budget.
Excellent location, good to stay with family. Nice site seeing from the top. Food quality is average at their restaurant which is the only option. If one wish to go outside to eat, it is bit far and no walkable distance. Hotel internet is very very poor, one cant depend on hotel's internet.
Jammu Ashok LOOKS like it once was something special, but now is a run-down neglected dirty unserviced slack-staffed incompetent ghost of a bygone era.
Like many places in India it rests on its imagery of grander times LONG PAST, but there is no substance behind an admittedly impressive facade and grounds ... of course any feature in the grounds such as swimming or tennis facilities are totally dysfunctional or filthy, overgrown etc.
On arrival management had 30 minutes 'screwing around' to locate the booking I'd had for weeks prior, while I sat hot and tired and UNsupported by any offer of chai or perhaps access to a room while they work out their incompetence.
A large function took place in the banquet hall ... for 3 days following I was walking through the filth on the stairways, of paper cups and scraps which NO staff paid any attention to. I actually looked in the banquet hall days later, which had open door I passed on the way to my room, and days later there still had been no effort to clean actual food scraps and litter, which the honoured guests had dropped all over the floor like animals ....
THE FILTH IN THE PHOTOS IS DAYS AFTER THE EVENT. I could have photographed the litter in the stairwells but what was the point, no one cared.
This place has nothing but pride in the "image of grandeur" .... pride in what it once was BUT NO ENERGY TO ACTUALLY BE WHAT IT ONCE WAS .... it is a place of laziness and over-privileged staff who seem to feel they are important in their monkey suits, but service is near non existent. The restaurant had adequate food at an inflated price but I was not willing to risk food from the same filthy attitudes, so I was happy enough to go for a walk for food... I went to the road nearby for street food which was better, and my only meal in house was breakfast, and only because I was tired ... I would never have used the in-house dining otherwise. The hotel location is not ideal, quite far walk from central Jammu but buses serve well so as long as one can ID correct bus, is fine. The tuk-tuk guys all saw my white skin and offered 300 rupee ride to this place which was actually a 30 rupee ride, but guess what, my skin does not mean my stupidity and I simply told them 'no' until at last a reasonable fare offer, at 50 rupees was accepted. (This is from overpass interchange, up the hill to the hotel ... I walked it easily many times so it is never a 300 rupee fare! Anyway, if you like the fantasy of excellence without the substance, this place is for you ... all the imagery (filth encrusted) is there but not much except the in-built charm of the location and nice enough surrounds.
Recommended for those who want an acceptable room, not dirty but not super clean, adequate facility away from noise and traffic, it is somewhat acceptable, but over priced for what it is. Nonetheless it is not expensive and if one demands some service, it can be achieved. Good luck waking or finding the manager though.
