the best place, to stay far away from the best place, to stay far away from

by kiki s on December 18, 2016

do yourself a favor and write down, or remember the name of this place if you're going to spend some nights (or even just some hours) in Jodhpur, and stay in any other hotel or guesthouse. from far the worst and most overpriced hotel I've been, a nightmare come true... I was not feeling very well after a long day of traveling and just wanted to rest and use a bathroom. I should've been suspicious when the owner was so eager to charge me the rate of the room before checking in, but again, I just wanted to rest. spitmarks on the wall, cockroaches all over the place, when I say all over, I mean all over... when I saw the state of the bed under the sheet... wow I enclose pictures so you can see I'm not exaggerating...

Used it for a day stay. Right opposite to Jodhpur Railway Station. Stayed here because "Govind Hotel" which was next to it was full. But it was a bad decision. It has a lift but they wont allow you to use it, you have to use stairs everytime. It should be renamed as "DOOM HOTEL"

We booked this place for a change of clothes to freshen up after our train journey, before heading off to the airport. bad decision. The entrance is dirty and the rooms were filthy. A fellow traveller said we should have headed to heritage a hundred meters away.

Avoid like the plague - you'll probably catch that and worse before you've even checked in. Avoid like the plague - you'll probably catch that and worse before you've even checked in.

I needed just 7 hours to catch up on sleep between two different train journeys. Thought this would be ideal being so close to the station. WRONG! As I walked down Railway Station road I had low expectations for this place. The stench of urine and human defecation started to burn the back of my throat. I saw a sign for Hotel Dhoom guiding me down a dimly lit alley. As I walked through I bumped into a drug fuelled hobo, eyes bloodshot from whatever his poison was. Hulabalugu, he murmered, or something equally incomprehensible. I brushed past and into the grim lobby of the Hotel D(h)oom. For a start it's nothing like the picture provided by the management above, that's clearly a totally different hotel. The obese sloth behind the desk asked for 1600 rupees, it took several minutes to explain that I'd booked on for only 800. He eventually led me upstairs to a grim room. The bin in the corner had an inch of phlegm and other nasty substances in it. The bathroom was filthy with faeces up the walls and across the floor. A cockroach sat waiting for me on the bedside table. I left immediately without paying. A different small Indian man chased me out the building. I bumped into the drug addict again, hulabalugu he murmered, hulabalugu I replied before drifting into the night. I awoke at Cosy Guest House, a previous haunt infinitely better than Hotel D(h)oom. Spend the money on a tuk-tuk to somewhere decent, anywhere but here!!!

I stayed in this hotel during December 2012.... What a bad experience.. As it is nearer to the Railway Station, they take it as an undue advantage, and charges the room rent in excess of what it should have been. I don't recommend it to any one...
