I happen to stay here last Week. It was a really good experience as the staff and manager were very welcoming. I happen to meet the owner of the property Mr. Vishal who was very kind. They also helped me manage my days in the city. All the major attractions are nearby to this property.
Would definitely recommend staying here.
I have just returned from another trip to India . When I go I look for good budget Accomodation .
This little place ticks all the boxes for me . Very clean , safe and friendly , good food , great price and close to everything .
Please have a look . I think you will like it just as I did .
This is simply a beautiful place. Excellent services and amazing spacious rooms. The moment I entered I could feel positive vibes. A calm and peaceful ambience with just the right kind of decor. I loved the view from the restaurant!!! And met some amazing people there. Thank you for a fabulous experience. Just to sum
It up this place is just how I like it and the excellent services added to my experience!
Loved the Hospitality and above all loved the involvement and interaction the owner had with his guests. All the best!!
Sorry Vishal to mention that overall experience wasnt good for the room on ground floor.
I will start with Good part
The owner Mr. Vishal superb person, very good business sense, personal attention, also other staff appreciable.
Room on 1st floor which was provided as complimentary upgrade( as a result of technical glitch) the one that you see in management pics with 2 queen size beds, wont say room is modern but has all you require on a short visit
Food was good, however non veg was not upto the mark, may be just one bad day.
Location i wont complain, its a congested city, you need to walk or take tuk tuk to reach, my innova taxi driver couldnt dare to leave us till door step.
Room wasnt ready on arrival, whatever reasons told i dont buy that in( ok fine acceptable).
Hotel is located on main road in city so lot of traffic noise throughout, even at night and people sitting outside (perhaps drunk- NOTE: non hotel staff or travellers) talking till late night outside the premises ( ok, you cant have that control, but travellers should be aware)
Somebody knocking at your door middle of the night multiple times asking there is no one at reception, WTH.... read again Multiple times. SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE.
So i would say its a good place for food, good for stay ( if its not next to reception), but for me overall it was a spoil sport owing to bad sleep experience.
Me and my wife have been backpacking around India. Other locations are great as well but we found Jodhpur to be the best.
The welcome here is great and reminds me somewhat of a Riad (Morrocan style house). The rooftop terrace has an amazing view of the Fort.
The room is clean, and the bed is comfortable and really big. You can hear some noise but that was due to our room being located on the ground floor, opening out onto the ground floor 'chill area'.
Wi-fi connection is good, you won't get any bars on the rooftop though. The steps to climb up to the rooftop can be challenging which you will find with all Jodhpur places with great rooftop views.
The best thing about this place was the genuine nice people and help we received from the staff. Kapil in particular (pictured below) was of great help.
The food is cheap and the taste is good. Aloo parohta and chilli chips were my fav.
Breakfast averaged at 200 rupees for both of us, about 2. An average dinner here was 500 ruppees = 5.
They even have Shisha! We didn't know this until we saw other people smoking. There is no advertising to say they serve shisha and no shisha menu, so ask. Shisha was 400 rupees = 4.85
Shower was not the warmest but bearable and the pressure was not strong. First night I had to use hot water in the bucket and pour over myself which is how locals shower. Also there is minimal storage in the room but there is a bench to put luggage on. As we were backpacking, this wasn't a problem.
Finally, King's retreat is located in the PERFECT spot. Walking distance to all major sites in Jodhpur...The Fort, Jaswant Thada, Clock Tower, Step Well.
Would definitely stay here again and will keep in touch with Kapil!
