I booked the Fern for 2 nights from Goibibo at a very good price. I was sure about their standards as I have visited the restaurants of Fern, Ahmedabad. The Hotel was classy as expected. Special points that I would like to mention are as follows: Staff: After the booking, I called at the hotel and requested them to receive a parcel at hotel address on my behalf. The parcel was a gift which I ordered for my wife as a wedding anniversary present. The staff agreed and kept my parcel for 1 week before my check-in date. this was a great help. They also provided a complimentary cake for our anniversary celebration. The restaurant staff was very friendly and nice too. Location: located in a prime location which is easy to access through local transport and Ola. Ola cabs were available within few minutes at the hotel. Food: awesome breakfast spread. It had eggs, curd, raisins, fruits, juices, tea/coffee, south indian dishes, chhole bhature on 1 occasion and paratha subzi on the other, baked items, salads etc. It was so fulfilling that only little food was required for lunch and dinner. We also ordered food in room for our dinner which was good too. There is a roof top restaurant with fort view and great ambiance. Rooms: Rooms were great with all the amenities. The bathroom had natural fruit cosmetics which gave a refreshing feeling. Our room had a direct view of the Ummed Bhavan palace which looked so superb. Eco-freindly: The chain of Fern hotel uses eco-friendly technologies which is a need of the hour. Gym: Gym had basic equipments and was well maintained, my 1.5 year old son enjoyed a lot in the gym- Please note: he didn't exercise but he played. Service: was great Apart from the Hotel, I wish to give some info about Jodhpur. Food: Jodhpur is popular for its food. The famous snacks of Jodhpur are different types of Kachoris, Mirchi Vada, variety of desserts. I experienced these snacks at Janta and Shahi Samosa. 'Omlette shop' is also very popular but i couldn't eat there. Famous meal items are Rajasthani thali and Dal bati. I tried the Rajasthani Thali at the most popular restaurant- Gypsy. Then there are some restaurants with romantic ambiance. Indique and On the rocks are 2 names to be mentioned. We had a dinner at On the rocks and it was really rocking. Transport: Ola cabs are cheaper than autos here. Auto walas will ask for big amounts like 200, 300 for a ride which will cost 100 or 120 with Ola. Sight seeing: The main places to visit are Mehrangarh fort, Ummaid Bhavan palace, Jaswant Thada, clock tower and market near clock tower. There are various other spots as well. Entry fees in Mehrangarh fort is 100/- INR+ 40/- if you wish to use the elevator. 170/- for audio guide, 300/- INR for physical guide. 100/- for digital camera. Fort visit takes around 2-3 hours Entry fees at Ummaid Bhavan is 30/-. The visit takes around 30-60 mins. You can Visit Janta Sweets on the last day of your trip if you want some sweets to be taken at home. The sweets have an expiry of 3-4 days. Summary: Jodhpur is a cool place for a trip and Fern is highly recommended for stay.
