Very worthwhile experience Very worthwhile experience

by Alan_490416 on January 15, 2017

I stayed (as I imagine most people do) as part of a tour. The "Tents" are permanent structures with hot water and all facilities. In fact they are more like individual hotel rooms with canvas sides. The only drawback I found was that the lighting was very dim and and occasionally reluctant to come on. The included camel ride was an experience with tremendous sunset views, and the evening musical show surprisingly good. Food was OK but nothing to get excited about.

Stayed here as part of a tour. We each had our own canvas tent - inside was just like a hotel room complete with granite floor bathroom. The tents are arranged in a giant semi circle so you are close to your neighbors but far from the other side of the circle. My first experience in this type of accommodation, really loved it. We were treated to a camel ride, dancers and musicians while seated on cushions with open fires in the evening followed by a superb buffet dinner. It wasnt a "full" desert, there were trees and scrub but all around the resort it was sandy. Amazing experience. Super quiet in the evening, very cold at night but the room had a heater and a hot water bottle so it was super comfy.

Must visit! Must visit!

An excellent desert resort if you can't make it farther out into the state. The rooms (ie tents) are well crafted and provide all the luxuries of a standard hotel. I was very impressed by these. I stayed in a deluxe and it was very spacious. It's a small walk (<5 min) to the main camp site for the evening so that's fine. If you prefer being surrounded by other tents pick the standard one. The entertainment in the evening felt authentic and it's great to be outside by the moon and firepits taking in the culture of the state. Staff are attentive and work for their tips. The camel ride was great. If you get a clear day the sunset or sunrise are beautiful. and the guides are helpful so nothing to fear if you have any reservations. I'd definitely recommend this resort.

Fantastic Desert Camp! Fantastic Desert Camp!

by Corine N on January 9, 2017

We stayed here with our family for one night in December 2016 and it was a great experience. The tents are beautiful and comfortable with lovely bathrooms and hot water. At night you get a hot water bottle in your bed! There are camel rides to see the sunset or sunrise and in the evening everything is set up outside to watch the Indian music entertainment while we were sitting on comfortable pillows in the sand with fire light and snacking on the lovely tasters of food that were served. After that we had dinner in a tent where food was waiting for us in beautiful copper pots. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Manvar desert camp during New Year's eve. I was a little apprehensive staying in an isolated area and especially in a tent. The tent had a stone bathroom heating and air conditioning and was in the middle of the desert. We rode a Camel in the desert which was amazing and then there was a New Year's Party in the middle of the desert not to far from the camp with fireworks. It was a magical experience I will not soon forget. Highly recommended once in a lifetime experience.
