Family Time! Family Time!

by RNM2409 on February 16, 2017

Treated like royalty from the start till the end! Without any hesitation the staff were on their feet to make sure we had the best 2 nights of our lives. Their selection of wine in our bedrooms was outstanding. This hotel is flawless... food was catered to our palettes, drinks to our thirst & entertainment in the evening was spectacular. Staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was the best, with chilled drinks & snacks at poolside, homemade breakfast designed to my parents requirements, they even presented local cuisine to experience the same. They welcomed, greeted & farewelled us with lots of memories. I will definitely come back for another royal treatment.

Most Beautiful Palace of Rajasthan Most Beautiful Palace of Rajasthan

by roydinesh on February 14, 2017

Umaid Bhawan Royal Palace in Jodhpur is perhaps the biggest palace in the world ,having no rival to match it's design, opulence and sheer beauty of the outer as well as inner part of the edifice. One is wonder-struck by the spectacular style of construction and lavish furnishing , decoration of the rooms and halls. It has 347 rooms. Now a part of it has been converted to a hotel ,managed by Taj hotels and the present royals live in another part of the palace. The palace complex was built with sandstone , granite and makrana marbles. It's throne chamber is unique. Other magnificent rooms like Meeting hall known as Darbar Hall ,vaulted banquet halls ,private dinning halls ,ball room ,indoor swimming pool ,billiard room and library are worth seeing. The opulance of sheesh mahal is marvellous ,to be seen to believe.Overall the beauty of this edifice is difficult to describe One must see to believe the fabulous style ,inner decoration confirming to the loyal style and grandiose living standards of the then Kings .The museum speaks eloquently about the royal history. A must visit place in Rajasthan.

This is one of the best properties in the world. I stayed here for two nights. They made me feel like I am a prince. The staff does not know how to say NO. From the grand welcome, restaurants, Bar, the breakfast everything Awesome. The rooms are large with beautiful decor.

Best in the world? It comes close Best in the world? It comes close

by veryhardtoplease on February 13, 2017

This hotel was apparently voted Best in the World recently. I'm not sure by whom, or how you can tell unless you've visited every one which might be difficult. But based on my travels it comes close. The welcome upon arrival is worthy of a Maharajah. So are the historical suites. Ours was a mixture of Art Deco and Indian royal glamour, with enough small cracks and age to prove its authenticity but plenty of space and 21st century amenities. The service, from poolside to spa to restaurant and bar, was impeccable. India isn't London or New York so you need to make small allowances but overall I couldn't find anything to criticize (rare). It also never felt crowded, despite having only 60 odd rooms. There's plenty to see in the area but you probably wouldn't stay longer than a week. Don't expect a modern, sterile hotel or a party scene. It's the perfect place to unwind and I'd go back or recommend to my most demanding friends without hesitation.
