This a wonderful property located on the banks of the river Kabini. The place looks serene and the rooms are very well done. The food here is out of the ordinary and every dish tasted good. The swimming pool in the property looks stunning and it is very clean and very well maintained. The outdoor Jacuzzi in the room was very good and the sit out in the room is stunning. On the activities front the early morning bird watch and the coracle ride is a must to do and it offers really a fascinating experience. The kids would lover the pool, Jacuzzi, trampoline and wild life videos. Unfortunately we were not able to go for the safari due to non availability of slots and it is a must to do if you visit this part of the world. On the improvements front it would be better if they get the approach road fixed, trim the grass around the property a bit as it is very bushy and try and do something to the river front adjoining the property to make it more appealing. Also an intercom in the room would be a good to have. Overall this property offers a great experience and as a tip, please make sure you try and book your safari's few days in advance. I have created a short video on our holiday at Red Earth Kabini to share our experience. Please view at your leisure. http://youtu.be/YHcv2P6Xpv4

Red Earth at Kabini was an excellent choice for our vacation during August 2013. The hotel staff were very courteous and the food was excellent except that it was a bit oily. However they gave me some dry roties with boiled vegetables. The Jacuzzi had some issues initially, but it was rectified immediately when it was brought to their notice. The wash room being outside the living room is not a good idea even though it is well lit. Sometimes it is scary to go out in the middle of the night in the midst of insects and frogs. Overall we had a very good experience of staying at Red Earth. I would recommend for anyone planning to stay at Kabini.

Must visit for all Bangalore folks Must visit for all Bangalore folks

by Bornwinner7 on January 18, 2017

Brilliant location, warm hospitality, superb food, pretty flaura and fauna.... that's how I'll summarize my visit to red earth kabini....just waiting for the next opportunity to visit. We got a private cottage that has a private Jacuzzi..loved every bit of it... the property is a playground for exotic birds and is teeming with fruits and flowering plants...so don't be surprised if you're short of any dull moment :)

Perfect place to unwind and spend a laidback holiday Perfect place to unwind and spend a laidback holiday

by Divya D on January 12, 2017

First of all I am not someone who writes reviews unless it's compelling. We visited Red Earth between 8th and 10th jan. Journey from Bangalore to the resort was smooth except the last 4 km stretch that was uneventful. Thanks to Mr. Arun who called us the previous evening and gave pointers for the route. We reached the resort by 12 pm. Since I had requested for a cottage with a good view, that one had a detached bathroom. On seeing a 20 month old with us Mr. Arun suggested a different cottage with attached bathroom. We had to wait about 30 minutes for this one but it was worth the wait. Cottages are meticulously built with so much attention to detail. Rugged yet sophisticated and elegant, they seemed perfect. The porch with easy chairs and private Jacuzzi were ideal for a laid back vacation. We rested for a couple hours and then walked our way through beautiful pathways surrounded by flora and fauna to the Wonkey Monkey cafe for hi tea. This cafe is by the river side. There was a tribal dance performance at 7:30 pm. Kudos to the management for giving tribals around an opportunity to showcase their rich culture and earn a living. I was told most of the staff here are local tribals, another brownie point for empowering villagers. After a beautiful evening around the bonfire we headed for dinner. Chef Anthony is simply too good at his work. Every dish on the menu was cooked to perfection, right from starters to desserts. You feel the commitment they show to their guests when you taste the food. I was apprehensive about my 20 month old's food and carried lots of quick food but fortunately did not have to use any at all as she loved the food and relished it with us. Bearer ShivaMadha, special thanks to you for arranging khichdi and milk for my daughter proactively. People like you make us come back for more memories. The next day we woke up early morning and went bird watching. We could trace about 20 different species. The walk from the cottage to the riverside was unwinding, refreshing and memorable. Thanks Manju (the naturalist) for the guidance. He was sweet enough to help my 60+ year old mom through a steep walk. If I had one suggestion, it would be to serve starters from the restaurant at the bar at no additional cost. We booked an all meal package and would head to the bar before lunch or dinner. It did not make sense to pay for the sides when we had to follow it up with lunch or dinner. Overall, it was worth every penny spent and for the first time I wanted to extend the vacation. This place is definitely on my top favourites list and I definitely am coming back soon. Thank You!!!!

Hotel not maintained well Hotel not maintained well

by neha2701 on January 11, 2017

We were in this hotel in peak December but were not satisfied. The USP of this hotel open air jacuzzi was not well maintained. It had black ants in bunches n when v complained we were told they are not harmful instead of filling d gaps in d tub. I don't think it is value for money if you pay 10k for just d hotel widout jacuzzi. Also, d 5km road leading to d hotel is a nightmare, worst !

Nice Resort Nice Resort

by 192nishants on January 11, 2017

Liked the look and feel of the resort. The area is nicely used. Although the road after turning from the highway towards the resort is really bad. and some leakages in our cottage room should be checked before hand.

A perfect stay. Great welcome. Spacious, luxurious (detached) accommodation: front entrance (with porch seating) leading to own courtyard with jacuzzi & seating; huge bedroom & bathroom; back porch with seating. Beautiful gardens & grounds and lakeside walks (great birdwatching). Delicious food & service. Memorable experience. N.B.: safaris not guaranteed, but all approaches are through National Park, so you will see wildlife as you travel.
