This is my second visit to this government run Safari Lodge, nearest to the Mukki gate, Kanha. We were so impressed with it during our last visit that I decided to stay here with two of my friends.
We landed in Raipur and the lodge had arranged for a vehicle and we started for Mukki, on arrival and reached the resorts in 4 hours and in time for lunch. As before, the quality of the food was very good and more homely!
Mr. Baeghal, the Manager was in attendance and I was happy to see Mr. Yuvraj Singh, who is the man for all seasons! His attitude to service will put to shame many five-star hotel staff! Always helpful and dependable.
Mr. Manoj Kumar, the driver was also available for us and on my request, He is calm and collected, Unfortunately, in 6 outings we did not sight a single tiger though we had some lovely Barasigha sightings, peacocks fighting, a rare striated Heron, etc.
A wonderful experience, indeed and I came to the conclusion that if tiger sightings is a must must, then we should visit the Park only during the hotter months!
The hotel is located on the bank of river 'Banjar', alongside the road and under the shadow of massive 'sal' trees. A charming and mesmerizing place for jungle lovers. We visited the place in the last week of May, 2016 and stayed there for 2 nights and 3 days. The sight is something extraordinary when the whirling 'sal' flowers fall from the top of the trees and innumerable colourful butterflies fly in front of your eyes.
But along with the nature you also feel the warmth of the hotel staff. We are really touched by their caring attitude and service. The food both veg and non-veg are very well-prepared and mouth-watering.
The nearest and convenient entry gate for tiger safari is Mukki gate. You will definitely have lots of fun and enjoyment during the safari. The Kanha forest is very dense, beautiful and full of greenery. Tiger is a fascinating and wonderful animal and to spot and watch it in Kanha's jungle is very very thrilling and exhilarating. It will remain in you memory forever.....
we stayed in this property last month ie april 2016 for 4 nights.excellent food, hosspitality, ccourteous staff.mukki gate off the forest iss just next door so very convenient.any queries can b ansswwered on phone by me on 0091-9826651096.
We, a group of 3 friends, went to Kanha Safari Lodge, in Mukki on feb 2016. We drove straight from Nagpur to Mukki and was very impressive looking at the property. The property is located just at the side of a mid size stream of water, that separates the main jungle area with this hotel. We booked a single deluxe room. Oh My God - as soon as the waiter/bell boy opened the room for us in the first floor, it looked luxurious. We paid around 6500 INR inclusive of food and beverages, but the quality of room, that too in MPTDC, we were very much surprised. The room was a big one, with a large washroom and a wonderful balcony with 2 wooden easy chairs, just overlooking the stream of water and the jungle on the other side.
In short, the room, washroom, balcony, food and staff's behaviour all were far above expectation. Usually I know MPTDC's property and hospitality is always the best and this one was also not an exception. Moreover, just from the hotel grounds, you can go to a Nature walk, in a trail on the Hotel's side, or on the opposite side of the jungle, which runs parallel with the jungle and along the stream of water. We started little late and could not proceed more due to safety reason, as it started to be dark. (We were not accompanied by any guide, but hotel has guide service). Another reason I made a decision to retreat from nature trail was because I started seeing deers coming along the stream to drink water, which might be sign of or an invitation for the royal bengal to visit :-)
The hotel's ground is very pristine and virgin.Just sitting at the balcony, we were lucky enough to see many birds and deers. Once sun goes down, the balcony is pitch dark and you can enjoy the silence or animal sounds sitting in the balcony. The only reason we selected this property for a single day is because we had a safari booked in Mukki zone of kanha, just is just 500 mtrs from this place. But, if you have a safari in kanha, kisli or sarhi zone, this is not a good option for you because for going to those zones, you need to drive 35 kms through the jungle and hence won't get enough time to see and enjoy the jungle.
Visited Kanha last weekend, it was a 3 day family trip. We had booked the package for 2 night 3 days.
Our taste of hospitality started the moment we entered this property , welcomed with Cold Lemon juice & smiling staff at reception. In 5 min we were delivered the key n family got settled in room.
In next 10 min our safari programme was finalised with great inputs from Mr Roop lal ji , the man friday of the resort,He is there for all queries & issues .
Location of resort is the best near Mukki , just a Km from mukki gate , the Large welcome gantry on the main road is huge & you will not find anything close to this in terms of prominence .
The deluxe room on the first floor are having a beautiful view of the river banjar , a good morning stroll around that with the sounds of nature will be heavenly for all of us city dwellers .
Food in the restaurant is very good in taste & light on oil content . We had a gala time with Fish curry , Chicken Curry , chilly Chicken , Dal Makahani , Dal tadka, Mix Veg, Aloo parwal , Fresh beans with large quatities fo green salad & curd .
There were soup and desserts comprising of Gulab jamun , Rasgulla & Kheer.
I can go on & on , but it deserves this.
