The Baagh Forest Retreat is spread across almost 22 acres, and is an amazing resort with spacious and well furnished rooms, and friendly staff that provides excellent service.
Special shout to kalluji! You made our stay memorable.
Food served is good and the spread has variety (less in non-veg). Bonfires were lit every night in the massive courtyard, and starters were provided to us along with drinks.
Coming to the most important part: Safari. We went to Kanha core zone on 1st day morning, but were unlucky. On the 2nd morning however, we went to the Mukki core zone. Our guide Ramkali was very patient, and she helped us spot a male tiger cub, twice in one hour. The experience of seeing a tiger in the wild was surreal.
The resort is almost 8km from the Mukki gate, and the road is not in a good condition, so plan your travel accordingly. Also, always take printout of your safari pass, as the computers used for booking at Mukki gate dont always work.
Very satisfying trip!! Recommended!!
We visited the hotel during New Year eve generally during this time of the year most of the hotels in the reserve are fully packed with guests, only those hotel manage to give good service who are having adequate number of staff who are well trained in their fields. I choose this hotel based on the review which I got online and once I was at the hotel I found all the reviews to be true this hotel is very good and is situated very close to the Forest Reserve reaching the hotel is not a problem as there are signages located on the streets leading to the hotel once we are in the hotel the staff greets with welcome drink and with all the formalities done they take us straight to the rooms. The rooms are fantastic they are huge and easily can accommodate 4 to 5 people if required, rooms are beautiful with good furnitures and are clean enough. The Gardens around room and Hotel property are ok, however in coming years I believe those will also become beautiful as they are developing more Garden. In terms of amenities the hotel is having a swimming pool which is huge and can easily accommodate all the guests living in the hotel.
Please note that the hotel is extremely pet friendly we had our own German Shepherd pup, and we were pleased to find that the hotel itself is having a fully grown German Shepherd in their compound, her name is dolphy an she adorable by the way. The staff is very much trained in handling Pets, We left our pet while we went for jungle safari and when we were back we found our pet to be in no distress at all, he enjoy this stay with the hotel staff.
Now speaking about the USP of this hotel, that is the staff, the staff is well trained and polite and they know how to handle situations, we required room service at 2 o'clock in the morning and they provided with no problem at all, most importantly the management is very helpful and we found that they keep the need of the guests above everything else.
We were having jungle safari at 5 o'clock in the morning and they were ready with our breakfast packed so nicely that we didn't face any problem while eating in the middle of jungle.
Overall I highly recommend is hotel and I feel that all those who can afford a hotel like this should try once and take full use of the hospitality.

Nice friendly staff and stay was extremely comfortable, food was good and the organisation of safaris was perfect without a hitch, property was also visually appealing, the pond with its chhattris is a treat, also it all seemed very eco-friendly with zero impact on the environment, the resort has blended & merged in the landscape.
