I stayed in Hotel Greenland (Kargil) on 18 and 22 August (2014). I was traveling solo. On the first occasion, I entered into Kargil from Leh, and on the second occasion, I reached there from Padum (Zanskar). My taxi driver told me that this hotel was an old one, and comparatively new and better-equipped hotels were available. However, as I had already booked the hotel , I did not change my plan and decided to stay in this hotel. The hotel is located next to the taxi stand, inside a lane. However, large vehicles can easily enter into this lane, and there was no problem in accessing it. I observed that many tourists stay in this hotel for a night during their journey on the Srinagar-Leh route. For that purpose, or for traveling to Zanskar (as I did), the location of this hotel is good. The staff were helpful. However, the food options were rather limited. This hotel serves vegetarian food. They told me that basmati rice was not available. The toilet was not that clean. I expected a better toilet. However, hot water facility worked fine. Therefore, for stay of one night, this hotel may be a good option.
