Lovely welcome with garland/cold towel/drink and speedy check in. We met the manager Mr Gaurav on the first day and he was very helpful. Coming in Late Jan Early Feb= Very hot and humid therefore a sensible balance of indoor and outdoor activities is a must. The property itself is very luxurious. The villas are really nice. We had a premium indulgence villa with plunge pool. Daily dip in the pool is very refreshing especially mid morning when the humidity increases. The service was usually very spot on e.g. we would pop out for few hours and return to find our beds made and various flower decorations created for us which was a lovey surprise. The garden has a nice swing and even out door shower and tub. Room was nice, mosquitos were never a problem even with ground floor stay because there were adequate mozzy plugs in the room. Breakfast is included and the selection was outstanding for vegetarians. Food is otherwise very costly e.g. lunch dinner and you have to pay additional for extra meals. Fortunately due to level of heat demand for food is reduced. There are also some costly excursions e.g. taxi and guide/lunch to plantation visit. There are numerous other additional activities for a price. We went for the guided cycling to Bekal Fort and Bird watching which we thoroughly enjoyed and price was about par. Another highlight of the trip was the lovely beach and evening sunsets. The walking distance is a short 5 minute stroll. Towels deck chairs are all very comfortable. There are friendly staff available to assist plus they provide some recreational activities e.g. ball games/kite flying on request. There are a few bug bears regarding the stay. Lighting in the rooms although designed to be permanently romantic do not give options for white light therefore the rooms are persistently dimly lit. We had to request an additional standing lamp. The Air conditioning is a little strange and only adjusts to within a set temp range so even though AC is always on you can still feel hot in the room and we called out for AC service a couple of times. We would have loved to use the personalised massage service but were put off by the high cost. A complementary taster session might have got us interested particularly as the reception ACs were not working and there was no real incentive to give something a go. The Sauna room was a little smaller than expected for a 5 star hotel. Both steam /sauna and Jacuzzi were good.
Our first visit to this place. Travelled as a family of 5.Breath taking views all around. Beautiful lobby. We had the villas with plunge pool. Totally enjoyed it. Go for it if your budget permits...worth the money. Easy and quick access to what feels like a private beach..very few people around. Saw some fishermen catching fish the traditional way.The pathway to the beach is well lit in the evenings. Could spot quite a few bird species around the back waters. You can go around on bicycle. Fun way to explore the place.Hospitality met the expectations from a Taj property.Decent buffet spread both at breakfast and dinner. Quick and prompt service all around. Had the company of a toad at our dinner table. Tried to coax my princess to kiss it(considering that it was Valentine's)...my efforts were rewarded with a classical case of 'rolling eyes'. Overall, fun stay, great location, well appointed rooms and ever smiling staff. Have to say...Wah Taj!!
It's been a week since we got back from this place and I do not remember any other of our holidays which have left such a lovely impression on us(Me, my better half and our 3 yr old). From reaching out to us on the previous day of check in to gather details, way the staff greeted us at check in , hospitality during our stay and the fantastic sending off after checking out, we experienced the Taj brand in everything. A truly special experience. I wouldn't think twice to recommend this place to anyone. The check in itself was a smooth procedure which helped as we were a bit weary after our journey from Bengaluru. I was eligible for an upgrade which we were gladlyoffered. We were shown to our room which was amazing with a courtyard, private plunge pool, day bed etc. after a small tour of the property which could not be located better at a place where the backwaters of the Kappil river meets the ocean. The rooms were cleanly maintained and we did not have any problems during our 4N stay here. It has been designed very well with lot of attention to detail. The food in general is good but the breakfast in particular is just excellent and has a variety of choices even for veggies like us. This is the first time we did not have an issue with our little one's food when out of home. The hospitality of the staff is matchless and never ceases to amaze you. I would like to specially mention names of Mr. Sudhakar & Mr. Krishna at the Latitude restaurant for their help and hospitality extended. Also Ms. Clara and the staff at the indoor activity room were very cordial and more than willing to engage kids who visited the place. It was a very special experience and left us refreshed and extremely delighted as we headed back. We would like to visit the place again. Stayed in the second week of Feb 2017 with family.
great property. The location is very nice, its along the river and just at the beach. The service at the in house restaurants was particularly very very good. Some of the staff really knew the food and they served us extremely tasty food. They guy at By the way was very good at food, he recognised our taste and ordered the perfect dishes for us. Chef Tijo was very good - on our request he organised a Thai set menu with total value for money. Rooms were brilliant and luxurious. I would consider not going to Goa and visit this place often.
We had visited Vivanta By Taj - Bekal couple of years back and really liked the place. So we decided to go back there again for a quick break. The place has not changed a bit and neither has the Taj hospitality. This time we chose to stay in a plunge pool villa room which was simply superb. The villa was very spacious and the bathroom was very well appointed. The plunge pool was very nicely maintained and we loved it to the hilt. There was an outdoor shower unit and a beautiful outdoor tub. All within the privacy of the villa walls. I found the beach to be much more accessible this time than last time round, so that was also quite enjoyable. All in all, a flawless vacation. Yes, there was some problem with the AC in our villa and it was not cooling below 24 degrees, but that is really nitpicking. The front office staff did offer us to move to another villa but we chose not to since it was manageable. Will I go back there again for a third time? Most probably, yes.
