You might be booking hotels from various travel sites, nowadays it is quite difficult to understand the location of the hotel, half of it are quite outside the main town which you may never realise initially. This hotel is very much in Kasauli and everything is very near by including mall, Christ church, Bus stand etc. If you check into this hotel, then atleast you are in Kasauli. The hotel has more of heritage kind of ambience and have wonderful cottage style accommodations which I quite liked it. It has restaurant which offers both Indian and Continental. Food however is bit expensive however quantity is good.
Poor Service. Laid back attitude. Unsafe for families. Spacious but very cold rooms.

About Poor Service -
1.) It takes 40-55 mins for them to prepare food after the order given. Even then the Food is not properly good
2.) Service is poor. Servers have a laid back / no care attitude. I wish I could give -ve stars
3.) Dont expect room service to start before 8:15-8:30 am
Unsafe for families -
1.) I was travelling with my wife and kids. Our next room neighbours were 4 chandigarh brats.... drinking liquor openly in lawns (which is not legally allowed), playing loud music
2.) There are a lot of monkeys around the hotel. If not latched properly, monkeys open the doors and take your food away! You cant imagine to drink tea in the lawns!!!!
Spacious but Very Cold Rooms -
1.) Rooms are spacious
2.) Sunlight doesnt come to the rooms directly. Hence the rooms are very cold. Though they have heaters in the room.
Old World charm in a fantastic location.

Beware when you search for Hotels in Kasauli.
There are only a handful (maybe 8-10 or less) hotels in proper Kasauli town, which is all under cantonment area. Majority are in the 5-10-15 km periphery, as construction is strictly restricted/controlled in the main town. Thus the town is very calm, green, congestion-free, construction-free.
Why I am telling this? Because This hotel is one of those few that are "in" the town.
Now this hotel building was built long time ago, was a former bank, now a hotel.
It has two parts
(a) Main building. Ground floor, reception, restaurants etc. First floor, about 5 executive rooms. Rooms has a common balcony (a common corridor).
Rooms are huge. first room with a sofa, table, fire-place, minibar, etc.
Second room with a big bed, almirah, dressing-table etc.
Bathroom is recently renovated with both centralized hot/cold water.
(b) secondary building, across the road, about 30-40 meters away, deluxe rooms on ground-floor. A common corridor and a lawn in front.
An adjoining family room is also there.
Rooms are huge again (but smaller than executive room).
First room is a bed-room
Second room is a changing/dressing. spare room with some furniture.
1. Monkeys. Recently the balcony was covered by net. Still they found ways through corridor doors and a gap in the balcony-roof. Once also went inside the room and stole some chips packets.
2. Lights. Can be made better, brighter, sleeker with some modern lights. Sometimes the old-world charm starts to turn into old-depressing-world.
3. If you are in the deluxe rooms (across the roads), then either walk to the restaurant every-time or order room-service. (room service, I will not recommend, you will miss on the hot food and the good service and elaborate cutlery in the nice restaurant). Plus monkeys, as deluxe room lawns have not nets to cover. Rooms are too gloomy to have food.
Chicken stroganoff was amazing.
Pie dishes in general were good.
Breakfast (would recommend to include in package), was limited variety (in package) with different omelettes/other forms of eggs, different Paranthas, Poori, toast etc. But servings were ample, rather in abundance. Taste was also varying between excellent and above-average across all items, which is pretty good.
Service was definitely good.
4. Indian rice-based food items were below average/bad, e.g. Biryani, Pulao etc.
5. Chicken Pie was horrible with half-cooked chicken.
The location is amazing.
about 1 minute to the left is the dedicated hotel parking.
about 2-3 minutes to the left are some daily need stores/water/maggi/chocolates/buiscuits/chips etc
about 4-5 mins to the left is the Church of England. A small, yet beautiful church.
About 5-7 mins to the left is the small mall area / Jakki-mulls (shops) / wine-shop / samosas / momos etc.
About 7-10 mins to the left is the bus-stand, old Kasauli town shops etc.
About 5-7 mins, HPTDC guest hous, Ross Common. Another nice place to have lunch/snacks in its open green area in cast-Iron tables. Location may not appeal that much in dark,.
About 1 to 30-40 mins to the right, nice road, greenery on both sides, sparse traffic. Just enjoy the walk. Enjoy the nature.
Even if you are a very slow walker, still this stretch will welcome you.
About 2-3 kms of walk on both sides take you to the amazing Gilbert Trail.
Overall, good place to enjoy your stay and have a good relaxed time.
Good if you want to relax or walk, or run or just sit in the balcony and enjoy the clouds talke a walk in the road in front of you (yes literally) or sometimes the clouds pass by the balcony as well.
