Leisure Paradise Leisure Paradise

Wonderful place to relax away from maddening crowd. Mainly a defence area so no nonsense zone. Very windy and extremely scenic. Ross Common a 160 year old British Bunglow now converted in to a HPTDC Hotel. Rooms are enough to stay and some do not have a window but that is well managed by wonderful outside lawns and open places. Water in some rooms are bit problematic. The upkeep of rooms and furniture are definitely not as per the charges you have to pay for. Bathrooms are okay with limited and poor quality hand wash soap and towel. Bed and linens are falls short of expectation. Food served in the restaurant is good but costly comparing to its standard of accommodation. The lawn outside is very attractive with best of the views. Good sunny day you can see the Himalayan range clearly from the lawn. Again the Himachal State Tourism department displays its callousness in developing such brilliant sites all across the state. Extremely poor in conserving the environment.

I've been to ross common a couple of times now. Since i stay from about an hour's journey from kasauli, its always a same day return trip. So we have always dined there and didnt stayed there till now. The food is great. The garden next to the mountain edge provides excellent view while aving food. The washrooms can be considered as OK and are pretty much clean. They have a parking so you dont have to walk till there. Minor issues: - Beverages are not served properly. sweet lime water/soda glasses leaves you with sugar-sticky hands. - coffee/tea spilled to the edges of cups. - Pls take mineral water to drink. The drinking water smells wierd always.

Near to Delhi ~ 300 kms...good roads. Good for a couple of days away from hustle and bustle of Delhi.. Ross Common location is good...but food is quite costly.. Staff are helpful. Credit card payment is possible.

Best location, heritage property, great food Best location, heritage property, great food

The hotel run by HP Tourism is best located in Kasauli. The old heritage bungalow, the view of the surrounding hill and value, green tree cover around makes this hotel one of the best staying option in this beautiful serene Himalayan hamlet. The rooms are very big and Raj styled decored. The attached toilet also is of matching size. There is an open courtyard Infront of the hotel building just beside the gorge and this offers great view of the beautiful surroundings. The dining room of the hotel provides great home style food including Indian and Raj style continental. The food tastes great. The maintenance and service of the staff was impeccable. I loved this property. I strongly recommend to the tourists planning to visit Kasauli.

After maddening phase of eating. shewing and swallowing that happens during any road trip, it was a soothing experience to dine here. Food was very well cooked but without too much of spices or oil. Reasonably fast service in a small, intimate dining room. Great location!
