We stayed one night in the hotel and we were very pleased with the amenities and service provided. We had to check out early in the morning and separate breakfast was arranged for us in the room. A good quiet hotel.

We stayed there during our Vaishnodevi trip. The location of the the Hotel is excellent. Hill top on the backdrop surely mesmerize you and the garden area is the best to spend time with your loved one. The hotel staffs are very good. If by any chance I will be in Katra in future, I will surely stay in Kerni.

We had booked Hotel Kerni Palace from Mumbai thro' one of the tour operator. Hotel is located at the entrance of Katra on Jammu Road. Hotel is having two blocks with nice green garden in between. On arrival we were welcomed by the reception staff. We had been alloted two adjacent rooms on ground floor. Rooms were big & clean equipped with all basic facilities. Reception staff was very co-operative. They had arranged for free car drop & subsequent pick-up to/fro Heli Pad. Although not centrally located, Hotel was at 5 min distance from main market. Infact place was very quiet & peaceful, free from hustle bustle of market. Views from hotel garden were fabulous. View of Trikuta Mountain in the backdrop was mesmerizing. We have not tried lunch or dinner there but tried breakfast but not upto the mark. Overall our stay at Hotel Kerni Palace was satisfactory. Jai Mata Di!

We stayed at hotel Kerni in Katra on our visit to Mata Vaishno Devi. The location of this hotel is the best one! The room and the washroom were neat and clean. We stayed in an AC room; and it worked very well in the summers of June. The service was very good; but, they don't have in-house kitchen. The food can only be had or ordered from outside. They had free service for pick and drop till the point from where we start the Yatra for Mata shrine. All-in-all, it was a comfortable and pleasant stay at Kerni Palace.

Guys.....if ever you get even a whiff of a feeling that you have to stay at this place.....please remember that Do NOT....Absoloutely Do Not stay out there, no matter how inviting or new-ish this property seems to you. Coz once you have decided to stay here, you are totally at the mercy of the management who will offer no refuge or compensation of ever anything goes wrong. We happened to arrive at Katra while it was raining on Friday evening and through some aquaintance found this hotel which at first seemed not so bad. We took the keys and at the same time pointed out to the management that one of the rooms' toilet was stinking like crazy (in the new wing on the 2nd floor). We booked three rooms between 7 of us (2 doubles and 1 triple occupancy and the triple occupancy room was smelling horrible) and immediately left for Mata Vaishno Devi shrine trek. Next morning when we arrived at around 7 AM, we were surprised to find that still the room was not attended to and it was stinking as hell like earlier. We were dead tired but still called the management and informed them the same. They however did nothing much for it and in the end we all had to get accommodated in the 2 rooms available to us. Much to our dismay however, when we reached 3 hours later to settle the bill, and requested to offer some rebate since we had not used the room even one bit and that it as still stinking till now, management asked us to wait while it kept settling payments of other travellers. We waited for quite sometime, irritable of course. When our patience was running out, the man at the reception said that the manager had arrived in his room and we can now meet and request for whatever our grievances were. When we explained the situation, he started retaliating and asked us to settle and pay in full and nothing can be done and that why in the first place did we take the room. We were totally shocked at this apathy and hence decided not to pursue the case any longer and paid in full and left..........very very dismayed and disappointed. Guys, its one of the worst places to stay if you happen to find fault and point that out to the management who will do absolutely nothing about it.......!!!!
