I visited Himalaya Darshan resort in Nov 2017 with a few friends. We stayed for 2nights. The name stands true as we got an unobstructed beautiful view of the greater himalayas and a few prominent peaks like Nanda devi from our balcony. Mr Arora has developed the property with a lot of love and detail. This is also reflected in his staffs attitude and service. The food was simple and felt as good as home cooked. I have to mention that Mr Arora upgraded us to the new side of the property from the originally booked bamboo huts. The experience was very satisfying, if I ever visit Kausani again I know my destination is going to Mr Arora's resort.
We visited Mr Arora's Himalayan Darshan Resort along with one more family.Property is situated at hill side and provides an opportunity to spend some time with oneself and serene and mystic beauty of nature.
Approach road towards the Resort was not a tar road so we were escorted by the owner Mr Arora. We were surprised by his commitment and presence.
There are chalets and executive rooms. We preferred executive rooms as they are more spacious and provide open and cozy atmosphere for family and kids.
Rooms were managed well, washrooms were clean and equipped with basic amenities.
As we opened the balcony we had a face off with the Snow Cladding peaks.Even though the entire snow peaks were seen across the property this view was special.Apart from this you can hear humming of birds from near by trees. You can enjoy Sunrise and Sunset while sitting and sipping a cup of Tea from this balcony.
Property has ample open space ,kids play area and bonfire place. There were plenty of Orange and Malta plantations which were adding additional colors to this place. This must be colorful and lively place during Spring and Rainy season.
The staff was courtios and ensured our immediate requirements of Tea, coffee and snacks were meet within no time.
Food was really good and children were happy with the taste. If you are food connosier you can enjoy local kumaoni delicacies at the cafeteria.
The night sky was crystal clear Millions on STARS were shinning their lights. We had seen many constellations through naked eyes.
Wifi was available at cafeteria but the signal was poor in our rooms. There was limited light on the way to cafeteria during the night time.
This place is~ 6 km from main Kausani so arrange your own pick up.Try to reach this place before noon so that you can enjoy the open space and watch snow peaks in different colors. As Sun starts setting temperature drops at much faster rate.
Check out evening/night temperature and accordingly bring warm clothes.
Thanks Mr Arora for allowing us to pluck Oranges and Malta from trees ,had spent quality time with Friends and Family.
Day 4 of our UK road trip, started from Ojaswi Resort, Chaukori to Himalyan Darshan Resort a total of 110 KMs. During our stay at Ojaswi we were planing our next destination and while googling and searching on Trip Advisor we came across "Himalayan darshan Resort" which had a rating of 4.5 that too with 293 reviews, which means its a must visit place, so we called the number on the website and a gentleman named Mr. Manoj Arora answered and guided us to book the resort through one of the online partners as it will give us good discount, so we booked it through MMT and got a deal for 5800 Rs for the executive room including dinner and breakfast.
Now who is this Mr. Manoj Arora, he is the owner and the caretaker of the Resort and very humble and amicable human, he will help you guide through the property, will explain treks and will talk in a manner as if he is your family. Gem of a person, would remember me, if someone says you got to know through the couple who were travelling in a Gypsy.
My view - Its an out of the world property with staff as good as a family and the view from the rooms is brilliant as you get the Panoramic view of the Himalaya starting from Nandaghunti (from extreme left) to Panchachuli (to extreme left). There is an image of the Panoramic view at the reception of Himalayan Darsahan with the names of all the peaks.
Food - Excellent preparation and delicious, you even get the home grown Malta in the breakfast, cook is an expert there.
Rooms - There are 3 deluxe cottages 3 bamboo cottages 4 executive rooms (newly constructed building) and a suit on the top floor. Rooms are big and well furnished with all round view of the forest and the Himalayas with private balconies. Neat and tidy rooms with latest gizmos, phone connectivity is perfect in all rooms.
If anyone plans a trip to this resort make sure to stay there at-least for two days.
We traveled during Christmas, and stayed there for 2 days. As soon as we reached the resort, we were overwhelmed with the breathtaking views of 10 great peaks of Himalayas right in front of us and astonishingly beautiful thickets within which lies this resort. Nestled against the alpine forests, the stay here truly gave us an experience of a lifetime.
Speaking about other things:
Location: Matchless by any other hotel in Kausani. Although it is a few kms. far from main Kausani area, but that completely cuts the hustle bustle of the town and provides nothing but tranquilizing calm and the only sound you get to hear is of running streams, breeze and birds
Food: Amazing..!! We tried almost everything in their menu, which is quite elaborate, and loved Achari Baingan, Kumaoni Raita and Aloo Gutka. One very interesting thing is you get to savour freshly plucked maltas in breakfast (yes, they have malta plantation in their resort and the best part is guests can enjoy as much as they like !)
Staff: Very courteous, helpful and always try to make your stay memorable. One never seen before is you will often spot the owner of the resort, Mr. Arora personally meeting and greeting his guests from time to time, taking feedback, suggesting ways to make more out of your stay and ensuring they exceed your expectations. His entire staff reciprocates this.
Amenities: Like any other good stay, running hot and cold water, clean linens, room heater, generator, room service, Wi-Fi etc.
One piece of advice for weekend travelers (2-3 days), esp. couples, that you can skip the sightseeing part of Kausani (e.g., Tea gardens, shawl market etc.) as it will eat up your day sitting in a car, whereas it has much more to offer. Spend some quality time together in the serene surroundings of Himalayas. Go for short jungle walks, cycling and village strolls, have local beverages, and trek through the expansive terrace farms. And yes, never miss a sunrise here..!!
This resort is at beautiful location. The scenic views are breathtaking. View of Himalayas is amazing. We stayed in the Deluxe Cottage room 102 and I strongly recommend it. Their hospitality is unmatchable. The resort owner and staff over there are very humble and polite. There are not many places in Kausani to roam around. You can cover the entire market in around 4-5 hours. However, places nearby Kausani can be explored. So, if you're planning to stay only in Kausani, then 3 nights are sufficient. Also, this place will be liked by those who prefer holidays which are calm, quiet and peaceful. People who are looking for city like places, can choose Nainital over Kausani.
