The stay was great as expected. With my second visit to the camp, I could see the experience has just got better. The airport transfers, safaris and the staying experience was great and you can't pick a fault. Staff are warm and would rush to take care of your needs. The cooks great I should say. Food was just awesome.
With some help from the resort driver could connect to a good guide and Lady Luck shines as you get to see The Royal Bengal Tiger, not one but four!!!! Even the other guests could sight a Tiger in their visit to another zone. Perhaps Nature Hunt got a magic wand or charm which rewards their guestsExperience it
We opted for a package which included pick up and drop from Guwahati, night stay at bamboo huts, food and elephant + jeep safari. What I liked ... 1.The whole package was well conducted with proper pre-visit communication from owner 2. Staying in Bamboo huts with all basic facilities, was a different and nice experience 3. The behavior and effort of the staff was appreciable. 4. Food was well cooked and nicely served 5. The safaries were well coordinated ........... But still I shall not rate them as excellent because of some minor issues 1. The inclusions of our package was not properly communicated by the owner to the staff catering for us 2. Bamboo huts gets chilled out in winter nights though they have provided adequate blankets for us (may be uncomfortable for elderly) 3. I personally felt the package was overpriced compared to the amenities/services provided (I may be wrong) .... Still ignoring these, I shall recommend them for a Kaziranga visit .....
So this trip was planned at the nth moment as my well planned trip to Ziro had to be cancelled for some reason. So once the destination was decided I started to explore staying options and booked Nature Hunt Eco Camp after going through it's reviews. And once I reached the property I knew I was in for a treat!
The property has a tea garden and is a fairly well maintained place, just off the main highway and reaching here was easy (I drove from Guwahati). Moreover it's location is pretty good, it is very close to the central and western range of Kaziranga and enables you to do elephant safari and jeep safari with in a span of 6 hours without travelling too much.
Coming to the cottage, I stayed in BulBul, it is the last cottage in the row of cottages overlooking tea garden, it was neatly prepared with clean sheets and quilts, which was very comforting. Toilets were also well kept. But be aware of one thing, the cottages are not sealed pack, I mean you will see open spaces near ceilings across the cottage, which could become possible entry point for some insects, etc. All cottages have these porches with a table and two chairs where one can enjoy a coffee and listen to birds chirping (My idea of relaxing).
The most important thing now: FOOD! Well the food options are limited, if I recall it correctly, just three types of cuisine. I had Assamese thali during my stay and oh boy, it was amazingly delicious. Since they exclusively prepare each meal as per customer requests, one is assured to get freshly prepared meal. I loved the food and thumbs up to the chef!!
All in all, it was a very pleasant stay, the staff was very courteous and helpful. They also arranged for the safaris.
It might not be a 5 star property but surely they treat you like 5 star! Kudos to Nature Hunt Eco Camp staff! Keep it up!
We stayed here for 2 nights. Cottages are very cozy and beautifully managed. Clean and maintained bathrooms. If hot water is required, they will provide by bucket. The management can arrange the safari, both elephant and jeep. Food was good too. Overall a very nice experience. Recommended to everyone.
We 7 people stayed in a family room which can accommodate 7-8 people in Nature Hunt Eco Camp. It was a bamboo cottage raised little above of ground. 7 mattresses were on the carpeted bamboo flooring. We booked a complete package inclusive of jungle safari to kaziranga national park, one elephant safari in the morning and all meals with stay. Roonie was quite cooperative and friendly. They are very strict to their rules and we liked it. Food was above average but nothing special. After jeep safari in cold n windy evening, snacks at bonfire were just amazing. I understand getting elephant safari is very difficult as everyday tourist out number the elephants and only 20-30% tourists get the chance for elephant safari in the morning which is really amazing. Booking counters open one evening before at 7 pm and based on your resort interest, u get it. Roonie was quite helpful in this regard to fulfil his promise of elephant safari.
