My first aim was to spend 3 days in Khajuraho, but I was so fine in Osaka I ended up staying a week. Osaka is a budget guest house with a nice roof terrace located in a quiet alley off the main road. My room was spacious and clean and had a balcony. Wifi ok. There's a rooftop restaurant serving good food, both indian and international. The Western Group of temples was a short walk from the guest house. A little further by a lake, but still walking distance, there were several other temples. But the best was the hospitality offered by Fahim and Siraj, friendly and honest people. If they have time enough time, they will show you around with their bikes in exchange of some money for petrol. Khajuraho is more than just its famous temples. You can go to some nearby villages, to the Ken Gharial Canyon and Nature Reserve (two waterfalls there) or even better to the Panna National Park for a safari and try to spot tigers (I did it through Siraj's agency and had a great experience). Osaka is a good base to explore all these sites. As for me, a guest house to go back again.
Rooms are basic but very clean. The people working here are gentle and VERY helpfull! If you visit Kajuraho it is a nice place to stay because it's not as loud as the centre Hostels and they have a nice rooftop
I stayed 3 nights December 2015. The room was basic but clean, nice and quiet. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The roof top restaurant was good. They helped me with a good guide. Good value for money. I recommend!
I arrived at midday .One if the guys in the hotel Advised me to take a rickshaw to See the smaller temples, saying that i should the main temples in the morning, when hey looked better. So i did , forgetinh that ir was fog season. So i could Not See he western group of temples properly And take good pictures. I was si upset that the staff of the hotel lied to me probably to Get comnision of the rickshaw, Not caring that it would make my trip worse. A part from this, the toilette was dirty when that fave me the room .
The owner, Shabnam, is just a doll. Seven of us traveling together hung out for the day waiting to catch a train. Ate great food, drinks, music - such a beautiful little resting spot. Absolutely loved it. A short walk (few blocks) off the main strip provided quiet, restful, place to see the local school, people, etc. Must stop!!
