This place is quite close to NH4 (Pune-Bangalore Highway). We reached post 2AM and the hotel staff was very active and helpful in accommodating us. It is strictly a budget stay, but worth for the price paid. The food quality is decent and has the spicy Kolhapuri flavour. Satisfactory enough I would say.
I visited this hotel on 4th of March, a local friend had recommended. In fact I had gotten down from morning train and i had to have 2 hours of rest and then freshen up and head for the meetings. The room provided to me was with clean linens and the tea served was good. Room doesn't block outside noises much. However it served my purpose of a quick rest and freshen up for a very economical price, even not running into four digits.
I have stayed during my visit to Bangalore, I chose Kolhapur as mid point of my journey and I was in need of a hotel to spend the night. Hotel is okay though the rooms are too small, hygiene level is not so good by seeing budget its tolerable. Food is also average but hygiene level in restaurant was a concern. So i left the food and went to a nearby restaurant. they have parking which was okay for parking of my sedan. Service are good and prompt and toiletries are avg. Overall its fine if you are looking to spend 1 night under 2K.
I had to book this hotel due to non availability of hotel during holiday season ( 24-26 Dec) . I was travelling back to pune from Tarkali and wanted to stay in Kolhapur for one day. There normal charges are 1K per rooms but due to vacation season they charged 2K. That shows the attitude of hotel owner. Rooms was very small not so clean beading. Only go their if you do not have any other option.
Do you want to stay at a hotel which is extremely overly prized? Do you like to stay far away from all possible tourist attractions e.g. 100 bucks to the Mahalaxmi Mandir by auto? Do you like bad food at extremely high prices. e.g. a mineral water bottle at 25 bucks and so on? Would you like to have the staff come to or call your room every other hour asking stupid questions e.g. is the bathroom tap turned On or off, are there tea cups in the room etc.? Do you like spotted bed sheets? What about a extremely noisy and disturbance filled experience? Do you want to stay at a place where the staff has no idea what an 'Do not disturb' board means? If you answer Yes to any or all of the above, this hotel is your place to be. The problem with Kolhapur is that it has lot of great hotels but they are not all online for booking and that is where the bad ones like this hotel gain a edge. Check with friends and others and get a good hotel when you come to this great historical and pilgrimage city. Stay some where near to all destinations, say, somewhere near Bhavani Mandap and Rankala. I have no further wish to waste money on such a pathetic and dirty place. Won't even recommend my enemies to stay here.
