We four friends stayed here for 5 nights and before getting into the hotel we bought 4 vodafone sim cards and after checking in we discovered sim cards had no network inside the hotel and they even ddnt inform us about this . Very poor service ,whenever we called for their staff no one came to serve on time. Small rooms,small bathrooms congested i must say. So plz i would suggest dont stay here

By far the worst place I've stayed in all my travels throughout south east Asia and India. The room is not the worth the price but and the location is decent. However, this hotel has the most rude and incompetent owner that I've ever had to deal with. I extended my stay for two days on agoda the night before I was suppose to check out. In the morning when I went done to tell the staff about the extension, they informed me that they had no availability. Okay, whatever, they should have blocked the room online but these things happen. I complained a bit and told them exactly that, that they should have blocked the room online so that I could have found another place and thats when ll hell broke lose. The disgusting, rude, man-child owner started yelling his head off, telling me they had no rooms available, raised his hand at me and was completely unprofessional. There was no reason to yell, let allow almost get violent. Please do not stay here, they dont deserve anyone's business. For the money, there are dozens of better guest house located around this establishment.

The only 2 good points for this hotel is central location in Sudder Street, 5 minutes walking from Park street metro station and the aircon is working properly. Everything else is a real NIGHTMARE. This is my 3rd stay in India and this is the worst hotel Ive ever stayed. Details : - dirty room (no cleaning, Ive put myself the former client carbage out of the room) - 1100 Rupees for a small dirty room, incredibly expensive - water running only in the morning, no water after a very wet day in the evening - very unfriendly staff, no care about requests, even no provides toilet paper for a so expensive room - very noisy because of 2 young boys : one sleeping under my window and the other one way studying and talking at 1.00 am, didnt care I want to sleep - no wifi connection Please go anywhere else but no this place !!

After spending a long time searching for a decent clean affordable hotel I arrived to this GH I stayed in a deluxe room which was very clean had a phone flat screen tv... could get room service,wake up call...Calcutta city center has many dirty hotels..cheap but very dirty I really could not believe how bad!!! My room here was clean and seemed freshly painted.Had cctv cameras in the hall way..felt very safe here as a solo female traveller .The location was great near all attractions,restaurants shopping.The only down side was the staff not friendly at all,no help when asking for directions to famous sights..really not bothered.When leaving the bell boy kindly carried my small backpack to my taxi leaving me with the larger more heavier bag!!!Then asking for a tip..gave him a small tip pointed to my large bag..he was not impressed if he had picked my larger bag he would of earned a nice tip...ah well...overall this GH is a safe bet....

We have searched a room around Sudder Street for 3 nights and it was not too easy to find one with a good price-value ratio (maybe also because we have arrived early in the morning). In the end, we have chosen this one as the room was quite big, fairly clean and had a window. We have got it for 850 INR (normal rate is supposed to be 990 INR). AC included. No WiFi. You'll find the Continental Guesthouse in the same entrance and with same rates but we have not stayed there as they have been very unfriendly and rooms were similar to the ones in Bhagirathi Guesthouse. In total, there is nothing special too say. It was a little noisy during the night (we had a room to the yard in 3rd floor and there was staff living around, talking during the night. A loud bell was ringing often, too - probably for ordering food or something). Additionally, our water was switched of several times so we had to go to ask them to switch it on again, which was a very annoying. Staff was not very friendly and not very unfriendly, their English skills were quite poor.
