We visited Kolkata for a four day vacation. We stayed in Tulip Inn for two days. Location: It is located in center of the city. Some of the popular places like Victoria Memorial, Birla Temple etc. are in close vicinity of this hotel. We had awesome view of trams travelling by hotel from our room on 4th floor. Park Street metro station is also just about 15 minutes walk from hotel. Service: Service is excellent. Staff constantly seek to get feedback on stay, food, service etc. Very friendly staff. Dining: They have two restaurants, one at first floor and another at ground floor. Food at Dawat-E-Shiraz restaurant at ground floor is excellent. If you are a vegetarian I recommend you to try Kebab platter. Only disappointment is with the tour desk. We hired a cab from tour desk for one day tour of city. Driver of the cab was not knowing some of the places like Tagore house, Netaji house. He also does not know timings of few places. When reported this to tour desk they thanked us for feedback and even encouraged us to mention in the their feedback form. Overall: We enjoyed Kolkata vacation very much and we are very happy that we have chosen this hotel for our stay. If we plan to visit Kolkata in future we definitely going to stay in this hotel one more time.
Nice business Hotel. Helpful people, nice modern rooms which are not too small, decent washrooms, good airconditioning. Only the lobby could have been a bit bigger with more seating, else it was overall quite good.
Food experience during BREAKFAST & DINNER WAS EXCELLENT .ALL CHEF & SERVING STAFF WAS VERY CO OPERATIVEBUT & HELPFUL BUT PEOPLE AT RECEPTION & FRONT OFFICE WERE VERY POOR UNSUPPORTIVE.
The elegance of the rooms is exceptional...The cleanliness and the standards maintained are top class, no doubting that, at all. The only issue faced was that the door let in a li'l too many outside noises, people walking around the corridor, etc, not loud, but enough to make you feel a little less private, being in the room. Overall a exceptional experience being there, making sure that I would return there whenever I'm in Kolkata.

best location, near to park street , a comfortable room with all required amenities , superb working free Wi-Fi.. a never seen staff ready to help you weather its a room service , your breakfast experience , in room dining or your special request , I am amazed with their attitude towards guest and always ready to serve with a huge smile, I strongly recommend this for business travelers ,
Even though there were three mosques nearby, on request, I was given Room No. 510 which is quiet, clean and hygenic. The room was provided with all the facilities needed by a guest. The buffet breakfast was excellent and comparable to any five-star hotel with a vast choice of Continental and Indian dishes. The service was very good but for some room boys asking for and expecting tips which should be discouraged. When my shoes have way, the house-keeping manager with one of his staff, promptly arranged for a clean-up....I was really impressed with this service. Ms Subrata who did my booking by email was courteous and helpful; even though the hotel has a policy of sending a scanned copy of 'both' sides of my credit. I did explain it is not right to give both sides and she kindly accepted only the front side - no money was taken in advance and payment was made on check-out. The lady at the Front Desk was also extremely polite, courteous and helpful (I didn't get her name tho'). The Front Desk Concierge and Assistants went out of their way being helpful, from getting me a taxi and loading my luggage in to a waiting taxi. Sadly, the two boys at the Front Desk, even though requested in person to take a print-out of my flight Boarding Pass failed to do so and the hotel management is yet to respond with their findings. Airport transfers are not free and have to paid for. Overall, thank you for the wonderful 2-nights' stay.
To be honest, this was just a night stay for me, so didnt get to explore the hotel a lot. I arrived very late in the night and the front desk exec was very polite and enquired if i needed anything and if i wanted a packed breakfast in the morning as I was leaving very early. The room was cozy and comfortable.
On my recent trip to the city of joy, I chose to stay at Jameson Inn Shiraz. Located bang opposite the popular Shiraz restaurant, the hotel was easy to locate. The duration of my stay was just one night. Here goes the review Room The room was not too big, but spacious enough. Looked and smelled nice. The lighting was nice and bright. Spotless linen on the very comfortable bed. Standard ten-inch mattress and a lot of pillows ensured great sleep quality. Other furniture in the room included a very comfortable couch, a swivel study chair, a wardrobe with sliding doors right at the entrance with an electronic safe and a luggage rack. The only thing missing would have been a coffee table. So, in case you ordered something from the in-room dining menu, youd be forced to eat in the bed or use one of the side tables. The thick curtains made sure no outside light entered the room in case you chose to sleep till late. However, the room is not soundproof and the thick glass panel facing the road could only do a little to block the outside traffic noise (and also the sound coming from the loudspeaker of a nearby mosque in the wee hours of the morning). So, if youre staying here, choose the room which is not on the same side of the building as room 301 (my room). Moving on, the air conditioning worked fine and so did the satellite TV which had almost all the channels I usually watch at home. There was an electric kettle which I didnt use and a mini fridge. Mini bar items contained some soft drinks and snacks. Two bottles of complimentary mineral water were provided on daily basis. Bathroom The bathroom was very neat and looked hygienic. The amenities included a moisturizer, a shampoo, a shower cap, a hand soap and a bathing soap. There was a phone in the bathroom as well. The towels provided, were spotless and of good quality. There was a hair dryer too and it was good enough. The only thing I can nitpick about is that the lighting in the bathroom could be better (read: brighter). Service The service was great. No issues here at all. The staff was friendly. Right from the people standing at the gate to pick up your luggage to the front desk to the people serving food in the room at 3 in the morning, everyone was very professional and had a smile on their face. The hotel has a 24 hour in room dining facility, which came in handy when I felt a little hungry in the middle of the night. So, I ordered cold coffee and a club sandwich at around 3 am. My call was picked up without a long delay and my order was served with a smile in about 20 minutes. Everything tasted great and the presentation was good too. The check-in and check-out were quick and smooth. Overall, Jameson Inn Shiraz is a great value for money hotel. My only suggestion would be to choose a room not facing the road. Everything else is good and the room and service quality is great. Id recommend this hotel.
Clean place and Linen. Has a separate menu for room service which has a good choice and is inexpensive. The staff is courteous and helpful. I was checking out very early so they gave me a packed breakfast which was nice. The location was nice and lots of nice eating places nearby. They have a great Restaurant too. Don't expect a very big place. Even the lobby is small.
