This is my 2nd visit to this hotel and I'm impressed with their service. Check-in and check-out is quick, rooms are neatly maintained, decent varieties on breakfast and dinner menu. I sure will start with how welcoming and inviting are the people at the reception and the other staff at this hotel !
The staffs of The Peerless Inn made my whole stay effortless. As a business traveller an excellent hotel experience ensures that your day starts and ends in a restful and relaxing way - no matter what happens outside of the hotel! The Peerless Inn, Kolkata is an oasis of calm. I felt cared for and valued. The room was clean and of an excellent standard. Highly recommended.
I can't fault this hotel on anything, it is so amazing. The staff are friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is so grand. Rooms are big and have every mod con you can wish for. I used Wi-Fi and this time they have improved their Wi-Fi service a lot with a very good speed.
Everyone is very friendly and accommodating, very open and ready to hear about your needs.
The employee here was very responsive to my needs and they were very happy to make me feel pampered.
Overall, the stay was good.

Nice buffet, unique lobby,You can spent the day in a fastest way.You may enjoy here holiday also.
I did not believe what i read when I read that Kolkata is in many ways an urban jungle. The Peerless Inn helped mitigate this feeling. Its older wing is elegantly faded, or faded elegance: gentle red-brown brown red carpet, yellow-cream walls with that oldtime woodwork that I like, heavy dark wood furniture. The one problem occurred in the bathroom, with a tub/shower that was so high that I almost fell getting in and out of it. I devised a system whereby I utilized the safety mat outside of the tub. The toilet, by the way, was excellent. The lever two feet above the toilet let me allot as much water as I needed to cleanse the toilet.
The teamaking device worked well.
The complimentary breakfast spread was magnificent. It featured western and South Asian dishes in astonishing plenitude.
The gently unobtrusive but extremely pleasant Tea Lounge featured wonderful chicken and vegetable puffs, great tea and a peaceful place to sit, observe people and write. I would recommend it as a spot to be visited even for people who are not staying at the Peerless.
The one snake in the grass: Aaheli, the dinner restaurant which features South Asian food, does not seem to encourage visits by older solo women. "Yes, ma'am?" the staffperson said as I appeared in the restaurant. I looked at him. "One for dinner?" he finally asked. "Yes," I said. My feeling of non-inclusion increased when a somewhat drunk young male patron started looking at me and making faces.
Otherwise, the hotel staffpeople were extremely warm and friendly, and I don't think this friendliness was contrived. Kolkata people seem genuinely friendly in general, even if they don't think you will be spending money. The city seems rather dense and bewildering. Its people are for the most part caring and tolerant.
I stayed at this hotel last week for 2 days between 14th to 16th Feb 2017. This has always been a well known hotel in the Kolkata city and I stayed here for the first time. I was offered a rooms at the new wing of the hotel and I should say that the room was superb. A nice bed and a perfect bathroom for a hot water shower and good amenities. The gym is amazing with new equipment. The breakfast spread is excellent and you would always receive service with a smiling face. Location of the hotel is excellent again at the heart of the city next to Park Street. Though I was travelling for business and had a perfect stay, I can also see it as a perfect leisure hotel as well due to the location, food and facilities at the hotel. I would love to stay at this hotel when I am back to Kolkata again.
We booked in to stay for just 1 night. Had never stayed here before, but picked it for its location - near to New Market, and centrally located.
The check in took forever mainly because my hubby forgot his PIN number for his debit card. Ended up having to pay with Aussie dollars - but this is where it becomes interesting. We were given an exchange rate, but when I queried the rate, and asked for the rate sheet, was given a rate card from November 2016!!!!. Pointed this out to the guy Serving us, who then hunted around and found another rate card that was more then 3 days old, and again when I queried this, he said they don't get given the rates every day. I don't think they'Ve heard of Google? It was too late In the night, so we accepted his rate. He then charged us to convert to Indian rupees, and charged us a second time for converting the change back to Indian rupees. I thought that was more than a bit cheeky, on top of duping us on the exchange rates.
We checked out early the next morning, and realised that the hotel offered complimentary packaged brekky if you checked out early. I think it's a bit poor that we were not informed of this the previous night, and that this was not offered to us when we asked for an early wake up call & a cab to be organised for 5.45am.
Very disappointed with the poor service, and we will definitely not be using this hotel again.
