I was speaking at the International Steel Industry Conference held at this hotel. When finished I needed a place to change - in advance of tough onward travel to UK, and then back to Japan! The Front Office Manager, Mr Ajay Thakur offered me one of their rooms for some time to swap into my travelling gear. He didn't have to do this; I would have been perfectly happy to use their lovely spar facility; but he insisted. I stay in many hotels across India ...and this kind of service to a potential guest in need should to be recognised and rewarded. Thank you Mr Thakur - I will be sure to recommend your hotel, and ensure to stay with you and your lovely team each and every time I visit Kolkata!

The Gateway is centrally located . It has well appointed rooms , good Bar and Restaurant. Staff is courteous and efficient. Food is good with good area for Breakfast and Dinner. Fish items are mouthwatering and sumptuous. Good chef and good waiters. Overall an excellent play for stay, food and drink offering good value for money. Recommended for business, leisure and family outings.

One of nice weekend spent. Right from check-in to check-out, staff has been very friendly. Duty manager not only helped me for early check in but called later on to enquire that check in has been smooth. Complimentary Misthi Dahi was icing on cake.

I had stayed here last week, and it was absolutely brilliant. I was really happy with the service, especially by Debanjan and Matthew the duty managers who took personal care about everything. I was upgraded and my check-in was smooth. The room was very comfortable too. A great option for business travellers.

That hotel was good for sure. But if you compare this with the likes of Taj Mansigh, Delhi you will be a little disappointed considering the price. The only concern is this place is far from both the airport and the railway station. Overall a good stay, I was on a business trip, but if it would have been a vacation, I would have enjoyed the stay.
