I had my breakfast in the restaurant it was not so good in taste. The location was ok near the hotel. Rooms were good with comfortable bed. The service was quick and prompt of the staffs. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Service was pathetic for every single requirement i have to call for more then 4 time, my son was suffering from food infection i asked for mineral water they didn't got that till morning. Food was very bad in taste. The only thing good was the room. It was very spacious and clean. I will never recommend to others.

On the positive side, there is some parking available in the back, in spite of the mid-city congested location. Also very close to Bus station and about 2 km (by auto) from Train station. Front desk was helpful in general. This hotel is listed as a 3 star hotel - yet bathroom lacks a bathtub. Shower splashes water all over the bathroom. It would have been a nice touch to leave some toilet paper in the bathroom - there was none. Restaurent has an elaborate menu but wise to ask first as to which of the items are really available, becuase we had to go thru a few choices before we found one that was available.

Hotel orchid residency is perfect and fit to pocket to every one. The rooms are clean and well furnished with coloured TV in the room. The bathroom was like a regular look. Very clean, had all the shampoos, moisturizers, shower caps etc. Separate shower cubicle but no bath tub though. I ordered room service and the vegetarian stuff was excellent with the roomali roti and pickel, which was very difficult to find vegitrian food stuff just like north indian taste in south india. one more thing hee i mentioned all food stuff was cooked in good oil not in coconut oil. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any traveler who wants to stay in kottayam.

Our stay here was arranged by our tour operator as part of an educational tour which obviously included students and us teachers. The very first thing that is a put off is the approach road which is not wide enough for a bus to pass. So we had to disembark on the main road and then walk to the hotel. Rooms look dated and some of the rooms had lizards and cockroaches in them. Food was mediocre and once I had a cockroach in my rice about which I complained and I was given a replacement which I declined. So to make up the terrible service they gave complimentary fruit salads. On the positive side, the management was responsive to our concerns. Not a place I will come back again unless I see some improvements.

Orchid is the one of the best hotel for middle class people . It is cost effective and clean . But recently the food quality is not good . Especially for the group programmes their buffet is not much quality one . Rooms are good

I stayed in this hotel for 2 days. It was a simple hotel with basic facilities. The room and the bathroom was clean as well. My flush was leaking and so they changed my room. Hence this place needs better maintenance. The TV was old dabba TV and not an LCD. The location of the hotel is good as it is near to the bus stand. Restaurant: The veg food was pretty bad and my friend had to leave his food. Non-veg was good. But once I had ordered schezwan chicken at 8.00 pm. I called and gave them reminder twice. Still I had to go at 10.30 and remind them about it. Later on they sent the schezwan chicken which had gravy instead of starter. I had to eat that as there was no other option. Not many options in breakfast but the same old dosa, idly, vada, bread omelette.

Recently visited this hotel to attend a reception. Buffet was pretty decent. Parking is a bit of pain as it is crowded and pretty narrow, but there is another parking opposite to the hotel. I believe it's pay and park but they didn't charge me any when I told that I am going to the hotel. The road is pretty narrow were this hotel is located. Staff were not that great but OK. Pretty old hotel so don't expect much in the infrastructure. Cannot comment on the stay facilities as I was there only for lunch. Food: 1.Palappam - Nice and soft ones. 2. Vegetable stew - This was super delicious, I loved it. 3. Chicken curry - Not that great as veg stew but OK. 4. Veg Pulav - Loved it. Soft and perfectly cooked rice with mixed veggies. 5. Fish Curry : This was really nice. Fish was tender and tasty. 6. Caramel Custard with ice cream - The eggy flavor was dominating the desert. Didn't quite like it. Overall I would rate it 3/5.

An aging hotel with aging facilities! I even had to pay for drinking water. No tea/coffee maker provided in the room though it claims to be a 4 star hotel. Room was average, no problem. Toilet/shower average. Frequent power cuts. The breakfast was the only highlight of the stay. Hotel should be categorized between 2 and 3 star.
