Incredible!! Incredible!!

While in Mahabilipuram I met a nice couple who knew I was looking to travel a bit more and recommended this place. Many of the people that stay her in Jan and Feb come back year after year so I was lucky enough to get a room for my 2 week stay. For the first 2 days my room was not available so I was offered the penthouse suite for the same price. Unbelievable suite - or really apartment -with magnificent windows and views. The best part about this place is not only the helpful staff but the cleanliness. In all of my stays in India over the past 10 years, this place is the cleanest by far! The only down side for me was no AC. Although, all rooms overlook the Arabian Sea and pristine beach so there is a nice breeze. My SIL from Chennai came and stayed with me for a couple of nights and vows to bring her family back to stay for a long weekend. Lastly, they helped me with further travel plans, provided maps and travel books for me to borrow for the time I was here, and invaluable information. Also, pretty decent wi-fi which I needed. Thanks to you all and I look forward to a visit next year perhaps! - Sheila

This was my favourite hotel out of the several I stayed at in India, and I had the best sleep here. It had great views and was located in a quiet area away from the nearby main strip. We also had a tasty English breakfast at the restaurant in the Rockholm Hotel that was right below the Aparna. I found the staff friendly and helpful.

This guest house is in a great location, is very clean and run by friendly and helpful people. The rooms on the upper floors have great views from the balconies. Our room was spacious and the bed linen and towels were changed daily. The mattresses and pillows were typical of Indian guest houses - hard! WiFi is intermittent, like the rest of Kovalam. No breakfast or air con, which we did know about, but sleeping with just a fan was impossible when its hot and humid.

Our room was on the first floor and we had wonderful views across to the sea over-looking palm trees. Charles was very kind and hospitable and the room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom too was spotless and the balcony was the perfect place to sit and admire birds and fishing boats or just chill out and read a book. We were very lucky to see a pod of dolphins in the bay. I was not too well when I arrived but Charles very kindly plied me with lemon and ginger tea which soon perked me up. The hotel is just two minutes away from beaches in both directions and there are some wonderful shops and cafes nearby.

Stayed here for two weeks, early November and was very happy. We were two couples and had the two ground floor rooms with a huge shared balcony. Rooms were cleaned daily, including full linen change. Good wardrobe space with loads of hangers. Lights over bed for reading. Washing line provided on balcony with pegs. Fridge in room. Helpful, friendly staff. 10 minutes walk to beach, restaurants and bars, bit of a hill, but ok. Fan cooled rooms, loads of hot water. A very pleasant stay
