The place is calm, and was not over crowded with guests, also the accommodation charges were decent. It was more of a home or your personal villa stay rather than the hotel or resort like feeling. The staff was friendly specially the manager Mr Shameer, he guided us about the places to visit nearby and also was prompt in service.
The beach is at walking distance and is not over crowded though tanning is an issue, you should take a torch if you wish to visit the beach at night, while at early morning time you may find fishermen pulling their catch from the ocean. The resort has its own swimming pool. The food may need a little bit of variety for Indian guests and you will not find a television in the room, nor a telephone for intercom. But it has wifi to keep you connected, apart from that, it was a great place to stay, many non Indian guests were there to get ayurvedic treatments.
I've just visited Ideal for the second time and can really say that it's a home from home. Massages are excellent, the food is good, yoga lessons wonderful, staff (including cleaning ladies, the doctor and driver Jinu) helpful and friendly. All overseen by the manager Shameer, who did his very best to make our stay pleasurable. Rooms are basic. Beautiful beach nearby.
I stayed at Ideal Ayurvedic resort for two nights (30th and 31st Dec 2016). My experience here was very bad. Apart from super slow service at restaurant, very basic room, bad location, we also faced huge discrimination between the way foreigners and Indians were treated. Everyone was rude to us and was not interested in serving us. This place is known for Ayurvedic treatments but if you are an Indian, please avoid because racial discrimination is at its peak here and you will feel humiliated every day of your stay. It became so awkward for me that I avoided eating here.
Ideal Ayurvedic Resort is situated within walking distance from a beautiful, quiet beach. Outdide the Ayurvedic resorts Chowara has little to offer. Nowhere to eat, no coffee houses, no bars or restaurants. The local venders replicate the same offerings solely for tourists. The Ideal Ayurvefic Resort is managed by a friendly and helpful manager. On the whole staff are friendly and hospitable. Check-in is easy by Indian standards. The property is a little tired and needs investment. Rooms are basic. Plugs fall out of sockets and the decor needs updating. Terrible wi-fi! The restaurant operates at a snails pace, food is bland, underwhelming.and overly expensive. There are no alternative options outside the resort....a major let down! Nice for a day or two if not attending an Ayurvedic treatment centre.
What a wonderful place! So caring. Our days started with a walk on the beach, yoga at 8:30, followed by a healthy breakfast, swim, lunch, and then a 2.5 hour Ayruvedic treatment. The staff led by Shameer was so professional, friendly, capable and caring. Dr. Raj was so knowledgeable and helpful. Entire staff was a joy! Thank you Shameer, Dr. Raj and staff! This place is the real deal! Stay here and get healthy!
As my Uncle Harry said "Chase Health". We did and we feel much better. We feel lots of momentum! Great place!!
