The warmest welcome to Kerala you could wish for The warmest welcome to Kerala you could wish for

Venkat and his team are AMAZING. We certainly struck gold choosing this little hotel and have no complaints at all. The breeze off the Arabian Sea which the hotel looks over the small lagoon onto kept the late April / early May heat madness at bay. We were the only guests for two of the three nights we stayed so had the luxury of the run of the place to ourselves. Venkat and the rest of the staff made us so welcome and nothing was a problem. The food was excellent, varied & plentiful. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the air con worked very well. The hotel is about 5km from Kovalam central but transportation there & back is both cheap & easily arranged by Venkat. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting an introduction to Keralan life.

I would rate this hotel as six out of five if I could! I would rate this hotel as six out of five if I could!

Just back after a wonderful stay at this gorgeous hotel. The staff cannot do more to make sure that your stay is perfect so where to start? The location is just perfect. Perched on the edge of a lagoon where the backwaters meet the Arabian Sea the only sounds that you hear are the waves and the birds (occasionally there may be music from the temple across the lagoon) no traffic noise, just peace and quiet. The view is something that you would find on a picture postcard just a lagoon, a beach with crashing waves and palm trees everywhere absolutely stunning. The rooms are two different styles depending upon what you like. The older rooms have a quirky, rustic feel to them. They are quite small but have a lovely little sit out where you can watch the fisherman across the lagoon or the sunset. The bathrooms have recently been updated with an excellent wetroom area offering a fairly powerful shower with plentiful hot water. The newer rooms are very spacious (the four upper rooms have balconies) and airy, again with lovely wetroom style bathroom facilities. The rooms are kept immaculately clean by the team of friendly cleaning staff. The hotel is also in the process of building a limited number of beautifully designed and well fitted houses which they will offer for extended stays of a few months. I had a sneak preview of one that was almost finished and Im already trying to work out how much time that I could get off work to make this place a winter home from home! There is a small swimming pool in the grounds which was very welcome as I was there during the heatwave that India experienced this April. There are plans to build a larger pool but I was more than happy with what is already there. Indicative of the emphasis that this hotel puts on getting things perfect for their customers is how they have good quality water delivered by van to top up the pool rather than use the tap water I stayed on a bed & breakfast basis and opted for the South Indian Breakast each day and it was always delicious, either idli or dosa. There was also plenty to choose from on the menu for lunch or supper if you wanted to eat at the hotel, all freshly cooked and tasty. WiFi was reliable (or as reliable as it ever can be in India with power outages knocking it out occasionally) and there is the facility to use the internet via a computer if you need to for such things as printing your boarding passes before leaving. Whenever I needed to go anywhere the hotel would call me a tuk tuk. It was a ten minute trip into Kovalam and roughly the same into the city. All in all, I feel that this hotel exceeded all expectations and I cant wait for my next stay.

Gorgeous place! Gorgeous place!

This place is RIGHT on the waterfront - so is cooled by the sea breeze all the time. We had a room facing the water, it was heavenly! It is in a quiet location - felt like the back of beyond but is only 15 minutes or so to Kovalam. The room was comfortable, there was a brand new bathroom. The grounds are beautifully kept and the pool was just the job as it was HOT when we were there. Really attentive, kindly staff. The food could have been more exciting but I think it was difficult for the kitchen as there were only a few people staying when we were there.

Fantastic beautiful and peaceful hotel right by the sea Fantastic beautiful and peaceful hotel right by the sea

This is the best place we stayed in during our trip through India. The resort is located between Trivandrum and Kovalam - each town about 10 minutes away by tuk-tuk. The resort, formally named Lagoona Davina, was been completely refurbished by the end of 2015 and just re-opened in 2015. Everything is new and clean, there is a lovely little pool, the rooms have AC and a fan and spotless bathrooms. The resort is located under palm trees next to a lagoon flowing into the ocean, i.e. by the beach, where you can hear the waves. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food is good. The rooms with sea view are top - go for one of those if you book. It is a very quiet retreat from the buzzle of Trivandrum or Kovalam and we had a wonderful and relaxing time. We can highly recommend the place and would definitely stay there again.

A Brief Visit A Brief Visit

After an hour's walk in the hot sun I was flagging badly but suddenly came across the Lagoona - an oasis! A delightful waiter (Yengit?) showed me to a shady seat in the grounds and brought me a lemon soda, explaining why the best way to serve it is with both sugar and salt. The hotel building was gorgeous, light and clean, and I sat gazing out on the lagoon, watching the fishermen and water birds. It looked like a lovely place to stay. The waiter was very attentive and I had some cheese pakora and chilli sauce before heading back to Kovalam in a tuk tuk.
