Dirty room, sheets and towels had not been washed!

Booked a deluxe room. Arrived at 5am and given a shabby, dirty room that had smelly, stained sheets and towels. The shower door was broken and the drain was blocked.
Was told there was no other room available. Really unpleasant experience.

We stayed their for a night, its located in front of beach and they have their own private beach which add the value to your stay, Hotel is good and location too . Its a 3 star porperty so didn't expect much. Service and staff was OK OK. They helped me to get taxi service to airport. However its far away from shopping zone, only local vendor and hawkers available nearby.
Wish I could write a better review....

The great first: Lovely and helpful guest relations person = Soyi. I cant thank and praise her enough. Also, Ayurveda Dr.Jessy was wonderful and Ayurveda therapists. Food in the restaurant was fresh and delicious and restaurant manager, Sivaraj, was very nice and kind and friendly. All other staff were generally friendly. Manager, Dilip, was very attentive, but in reality, it was mostly talk, as nothing improved per comments below.
The horrible: Rooms are not dirty, per se, but so old and neglected (as is the entire property) that the appearance is very off-putting. A/C worked (for which I was grateful), but very noisy all the time.
No hot water in my shower, so manager immediately sent plumbers to repair. Haha - plumbers kept coming and still insufficient hot water - After staying there for 10 days, it improved to a total of 3 minutes (I know because I kept timing it, in the hopes that it would improve). Bed was very hard, sheets old and rough, towels a bit thin, and pillows hard as rocks. I had the deluxe beach facing room, so really dont even want to imagine what the standard rooms were like!
No elevator and lots of stairs to Ayurveda center. Also lots of stairs to beach. BTW, when I checked in, manager said it was the hotels private beach, but that was a BIG LIE! It is a public beach and you have to rent umbrella and chairs. And worst thing was that no beach towels provided by hotel and pool towels could not be used on the beach. However, beach was clean and relatively pleasant.
Finally, this could be a great hotel if owner (Mr. Baby Matthews of Somatheeram Ayurveda Village) cared enough to put some $ into upgrades. But obviously this is not something about which he cares....Nor does he seem to care about the comfort of guests at his properties.

This place has a good location, right on top of a beach front. That's the only plus point. Stayed for 2 nights in 3 rooms 26-28th December 2019..
Welcome was fine. Our rooms were 'Standard', they should have labelled it 'Substandard'. Dirty room and balcony, very small, cupboards falling off, no fridge/minibar, water all charged (bottled) and so many negatives in room itself, difficult to enumerate, I have posted some pics.
Coming to the reception, queries and requests will be unheard by default.
Coming to the Restaurant. Sirs of Tripadvisor. It took 1 hour 20 minutes for us to be served, sitting in an empty restaurant. Atrocious.
The hotel has no lift to go up or down to the beach and the long long staircase down does not even have a railing to hold on going down a 100 steps or more. Elderly no no.
I will personally never ever come to this place nor advice anybody else. It was my fault to book here online.
