Excellent Kovalam Hotel with big, very clean and comfortable rooms and superb service
by missyaduma on
This is a cozy and clean budget-friendly hotel to chill and relax or practice yoga on the rooftop terreace. Only 2 min walk to the beach and charming Kovalam buzz. Located kind of protected in a very central typial small and quiet alley. A real treat is not only the peacefulness and the perfect covered rooftop where you can practice yoga by yourself or with a yoga master, but also the service. Delicious Indian dishes served to the room at no extra cost. The manager really cares for his clients' needs and wishes 24/7. He also makes sure you are getting safely and at time to the airport in the middle of the night at a low taxi rate, which is a relieving to know.
I started getting into a real creative mode at this place, writing songs, painting pictures and drumming, feeling really at ease. There are super- budget rooms and rooms with balcony at great rates. I decided to add another week and will come back here to study more yoga and drumming.
Outstanding hotel for a budget price

I spent just one night at the superb Sree Mookambika Beach Resort in Kovalam in November 2018. I have stayed in several - more expensive - hotels in Kovalam over the years, but this one beats them all. Less than two minutes walk from the fabulous Light House Beach (who needs a swimming pool??!), this is a delightful hotel. The rooms are clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Each had a balcony with an overhead fan. All rooms had a/c. My friend and I were warmly greeted by the manager, David. What a wonderful man! He treated us like royalty; nothing was too much trouble. He absolutely made our stay - even accompanying us to the airport and I can't wait to return next year - for a longer stay, I hope.

Fantastic location, a few minutes from the lighthouse beach and loads of restaurants. Basic but clean room with a comfortable bed. Good WiFi.
Manager was very helpful and friendly.
We enjoyed our stay here.
Kind, friendly, responsive

Very clean, quiet good location down a narrow lane just a couple of minutes from the beach. David keeps the guesthouse running smoothly and takes care of any issue promptly. He was also very quick to respond to our emails. There are five floors with two or three rooms with private balcony on each floor. On the rooftop there are yoga mats and a small kitchen availableile. We appreciated the fans on the balcony. We paid high season rate of Rs. 1980 over Christmas and felt it was good value. I would add that directly across the lane Achu, the tailor, has his shop. I was happy with the several items made by him. . .also very reasonable.
Most comfortable bed I've slept on India

It's very close to the beach. Saji the manager is very helpful. Sometimes the rooms aren't cleaned every day but you only have to ask. Some rooms have balconies. I had a room at the front with a balcony with a fan.
