by Ravneet C on July 3, 2017

our experience at Latoda was excellent .At a far off place like jibhi I am glad there is not much commercialization like in other parts of Himachal. Our stay was very comfortable. The rooms were comfortable, the food was excellent and the location by the river was beautiful. simply put it was home way from home.Highly recommended

No doubt in saying,My trip to jibhi is the most memorable Trip No doubt in saying,My trip to jibhi is the most memorable Trip

by Aditya T on June 12, 2017

This is the most memorable and enjoyed trip and one of the best we have(Me and my 4 Friends). Everything was perfect, like stay meal, nature and most important the host MR. JD and the staff are so helpful, caring and they guided us for the tracks and places to visit. Jibhi is the unexplored place, which is hiding tons of beauty of the nature(waterfall, lake, mountains, snowfall). One should visit the Jibhi must once in life. Once again thanks to Mr. JD for giving us a wonderful experience and service. Aditya Tyagi

Nature's arms. Nature's arms.

by FreedomTraveler13 on June 1, 2017

We stayed at Pine Wood Cottage. Its carefully tucked in the arms of nature on a hill top. Its easily accessible by a well laid forest trail. The view is amazing and gives a birds eye view of the underlying areas. The road below neatly interwinds around the moutains to reach Gadugushaini. I will go back to this place due the warmth of the people who work round the clock to ensure a great stay. Especially our esteemed host Mr. Thakur. He has a wealth of knowledge about the places in and around. He makes it his personal mission to make your stay a memorable one.

A amazing stay in a beautiful location , tucked away amidst the anonymity of deodar trees A amazing stay in a beautiful location , tucked away amidst the anonymity of deodar trees"

Jibhi is actually heaven on earth. This unexplored, beautiful , serene , dreamy, wonderful location is made even more alluring by the people who belong to this place . Let me begin by talking about Mr. JD Thakur , his homestay called Latoda Hut & Pine Wood Home, is situated right beside the softy gushing Tirthan River. There are rocks over which the water gurgles as it catches the light of the sun and a rusted iron bridge completes this picturesque scene. Mr Thakur not only welcomes you warmly to his home but actually makes you feel what it means to be invited to someone's place with love. He is not commercially motivated and I would want to again at this point highlight that apart from the stunning beauty and comfort of Latoda house his non -commercial attitude made my stay here heavenly. His entire staff especially, Jeet bhaiyya are promptly there to give you food, water and listen to your requirements any time during the day. The prices for anything that Mr Thakur arranges for his guests, be it a taxi or a trek are extremely reasonable and all his staff are immensely responsible ad caring. Jibhi didnot because of all these people feel like a trip, it felt more than that , for once as my friends and I were leaving we didnot feel bad only for leaving the beauty left behind but actually for the company that they provided . If you want to truly rest your tired soul and if you hate being a typical tourist, then Jibhi and Latoda house is the place to be. This place casts a spell like no other, one instantly falls in love and for once you feel that Wordsorth was not right when he said, " much it grieves my heart to think what man has made of man." Thank you Mr. Thakur for making us feel so special and please keep Jibhi and latoda as we saw it . For people like us from the city, this place is a true gift , a charmed place where we can go back to recuperate in every possible way.Warly, Debashree Sinha and friends

Latoda; Will never visit again Latoda; Will never visit again

by AnjaleeSumit on May 28, 2017

Probably all good reviews have made Mr JD an arrogant host, who has forgotten the basics of hospitality. Being a considerate reviewer I generally don't write bad as these reviews may have adverse impact but I am compelled after witnessing such unprofessional, rude, careless and deceptive services extended by Mr. JD and his aides. After all the illusionary talks with Mr JD, I finally booked Latoda for the stay of 5 nights inclusive of an offbeat day hiking and camping at Lambhri top on occasion of my wife's birthday. On a bare perusal I found the stay an ordinary accommodation with lack of basic amenities. Food menu discussed at the time of booking for the stay was absent. They had limited options viz rice, roti, dal, cauliflower and peas in vegetables for lunch/dinner, moreover for breakfast omelette and parathas. Yes our omnipresent Maggi with wierd Jeera tadka was also served on being asked. Our guide cum cook Mr. Yash Thakur was an arrogant person he hardly have time to attend his guests rather he used to be over his phone calls. Trekking and hiking to lambhri top can be considered as last nail in the coffin. JD's fleets of workers didn't leave any stone unturned to make this the worst ever hiking experience of my life. Surprises started with an order to carry our so called personal luggage as our potters refused to carry it at the last moment. We had no other option but to abide by their orders since I had to complete the trek. Our path navigator was not interested in taking us along as he kept on walking at his own pace and left us nowhere but in midst of jungle to find the route by ourselves. We never had any opportunity to enjoy the hike, didn't click even a single picture, not had water to drink apparently managed water from natural sources in the jungle. My wife had precisely asked to keep hiking poles as she needs it at times when she feels any cramp in her leg, nevertheless she was eventually not given hiking poles even after been requested as the one which was kept was in use by Mr. Yash Thakur. Our guide was rather not interested to complete the trek. He decided to call it when we were only half way through. He in fact started unpacking tents. When enquired with one passing by locals we were educated on actual destination. Somehow with the help of locals and god's grace we safely reached the destination, overburdened with luggage on back, tired n exhausted. The story doesn't end here as Mr JD who was suppose to oversee and guide his boys was also party to this. He straight away refused any of our plea over the phone and disconnected the call. All these while he flagged his unavailability on our concerns but at the end when outstanding payment was to be made he showed up. He was just concerned about the money and had glimpse of his greediness in various other communications as well. On extreme of discourteous, despite having numerous complaints he did not bother to give a call back and check if anything can be rectified. Overall it was such an ordeal which no one would like to ever experience. My objective is not to defame such resorts but to keep tourist aware of such money making hosts who play around with the comforts n sentiments of tourists. P.s. Must thank Mr. JD n Yash Thakur for my backache which is my pick of such great vacation. Champs.
