Had a very pleasant stay at Abad Whispering Palms. Quality of service and food was good. Employees were very helpful. If you are a honeymoon couple Bamboo Villa with pool is the best option. If you are looking for some other time spending activities inside the resort, then you will be disappointed. Hotel Management can include some interior activities for people who are willing to spend the time inside the resort itself

Excellent hotel. Clean rooms with nice beds, service was at the top. We were served good amount of food with varieties everyday. We will suggest this hotel to other travelers.

Pros: 1. The location of the hotel on the bank of the backwaters was picturesque. 2. The view from the lake facing cottage was breathtaking. 3. The entrance to the hotel was very grand. 4. Welcome drink was served on arrival. 5. House boats come and pick you up from right outside the cottage which is a luxury. Cons: 1. All the meals included in the package were buffet meals. 2. Room service was terrible. No one came for clearing up the utensils until the nest day. 3. There was no jacuzzi in the cottage. 4. The old television set looked out of place in a hotel of Abad group. Overall I had a very pleasant stay at Abad Whispering Palms. I would recommend lake facing cottage to future travelers. I am planning to visit the same hotel with my family in near future. Value for money!

The lake view was awesome. The room was well maintained and cleanliness was up to the mark. The food was average in taste. The staff was really active and the service was instant. The location was not really convenient but its ok. I was really pleased with my stay. Its worth stayin.

Peaceful, serene and pleasant stay Peaceful, serene and pleasant stay

A magnificent resort with traditional architecture on the banks of Vembanand Lake. We stayed in a lake view cottage with an amazing view of the blue waters and sunset. Excellent maintenance, house keeping and overall great experience. An ideal place to unwind and relax with beautifully maintained gardens and landscaped patio. The toilets are also classy with open air ventilation and running hot water provided by individual geysers. I could have easily given 5 stars except for the food and food related service. Early morning bed tea was not available and we were told nothing is possible before 7.30 am. It was Ok as we had the tea maker but I normally start my day with a strong coffee. The buffet spread is good, however ethnic foods are much better compared to north Indian or other non ethnic foods which are average. Service can also be improved with a few more staff added. The swimming pool is centrally located. However the Ayurvedic therapy needs improvement as it is more than a medicinal oil bath - dont waste your money there. The hotel also provides boating, transport priced approx 20% higher than outside. One can walk down to the jetty outside for boating experiences. Also, the hotel is totally non-smoking though its allowed inside rooms. There is no bar or alcoholic drinks on the menu though one can either carry his own bottle or step outside for a drink. Overall a nice place to relax and chill with family.

Stayed overnight with family in lake facing suite which had a living and bedroom with 2 bathrooms and a Jacuzzi as well along with a bath tub. The back side opened to lake view which was quite superb. Property is small but cute, food was average in taste, swimming pool is well maintained. Have speed boat available at nominal charges, value for money resort. Other cottages which aren't lake facing should be avoided, for small family cottages is enough, for 2 kids family suite should be preferred, only 4k diff per night. Staff is courteous. Would suggest the hotel to arrange for some day house boat tours for guests.

We were in Kumarakom for day as a part of our 8 day trip to Kerala. The stay in Whispering Palms was the most relaxing. Great spacious rooms, comfortable & clean beds. A very great lobby area to just lounge area and a wonderful swimming pool. We had a ball of a time during our stay here.

It's really a best resort....All the category rooms are very good...Staff is courteous and very good ....Best part is that on my request they managed to give me room near to center of resort, so my kids can play very freely...They really care for guest and deliver best. I would suggest travelers not to roam around and spend time at resort... Evening time it's very pleasant and romantic. All the best

Impeccable Service by Manoj Thankappan! Impeccable Service by Manoj Thankappan!

We were on a 30 day holiday in India. Kumarakom was the second leg of our journey after beautiful GOA. After an internal flight and a long and tiring drive to Kumarakom from Kochi, we arrived at ABAD Whispering Palms Resort. The location and the setting of the hotel is brilliant with a beautiful view of the back waters which is seen in an airy reception area. A sparking pool accompanied by palm tress which makes a great background for selfie pictures. Unfortunately the rooms were an anticlimax to the this beautiful place. As one with appreciate the heritage behind this, I felt that more work is needed to upgrade the rooms. We found the rooms, furniture and beddings were old, drab and smelly. The open ceiling bathrooms is definitely a no-no. the sanware certainly needs attention. Upon our disappointment of the rooms and refusal of my wife to stay further, a very fine distinguished staff member, Mr Manoj Thankappan rescued the situation. With his very professional demeanour and kindness went beyond his call of duty to make sure that our stay was pleasant and comfortable. He accommodated our requests in every possible way and with his unique smile and warm humble character, our stay turnout to be one of the best places I stayed out of the 10 other 5 star hotels throughout India. My wife and kids were satisfied with the service Manoj offered to us and because of that we will return someday to ABAD Whispering Palms - All because of Manoj! Manoj did indicate that thy have commenced refurbishment of the resort and the stakeholders are investing in the resort to upgrade it. Thank you Manoj
