Wonderful House boat Wonderful House boat

This is really a good and clean houseboat. The Service is fantastic. Each and every corner is clean. The Price is reasonable. Most important part of the house boat is covered and air-conditioned deck. Yes that is the trick. After the evening it is not possible to seat out side due to insects. But in this house boat, the deck is covered with glass and totally air-conditioned which is really fantastic.

We got into this restaurant by mistake after being guided by our cab driver. The ambience is something which we dint like at all. Cleanliness was something that was compromised. There was a crab eaten left over just under our table and no one bothered to clean it and frequently small flies intervened us while eating food. Considering the fact that I have a four year old daughter the biggest mistake I did was to go to this restaurant. May be this hotel is not suited for family and to be specific family with kids. There was just one person who was taking the order, cooking and also doing the billing and cash collection and this makes the service very slow. Overall we did not have a good day experience.

This is review for their restaurant wherein we were served excellent food and it was absolute value for money, the service was a bit slow and we had to explain to them every little detail as they could hardly understand our english or hindi. wqe ordered for 2 biryani's(good), two kerala chicken curry(Excellent), Neymeen curry(fish- brilliant), parotas(the best we had in Kerala). we chose to sit in the general restaurant as the weather was nice but they do have a A/C family room well the bill for all this food including 2 fresh lime and 2 bottles of mineral water was just 900 bucks(unbelievable)

This review is for Ashadom restaurant and their boat service. During my trip to Kerala, i stayed with family in kottayam. So, i hired a taxi from kottayam to kumarakom. Since we reached around 12.30 pm we planned to have lunch and then move on for a boat ride. Taxi driver took us to this restaurant since we had no idea or planning on a specific restaurant. We settled in a family a/c room and ordered our food. The service was quick enough. The food both veg and non veg, was simple and delicious. Try their veg meals and karimeen. Order all dishes in a single go and you could expect swift service. Else, you need to search for the waiter for a long time. They have a boat service which is quite affordable. When we went there, only one shikara was available (Rs. 600.00 for 1 hr). 2-3 hrs would be sufficient enough for an ride through the backwaters. Truly mesmerizing!
