We had made the himalya group of hotels our base as we did 1 night trips to various other places in Leh. Pros: Courteous & helpful staff. Decent rooms. Walking distance from the main market (15mins). Cons: No elevator. Reaching into the rooms on the 2nd floor make you breathless because of the stairs. Delight factor : Got an upgrade to a suite. Tip - Always keep the room windows open as fresh air will help you breathe easy in Leh.

Ended up there by mistake of my travel agent Asked for booking Grand Himalaya but he booked the Himalaya which is just adjacent to the other hotel and since June is peak period we ended up staying here for couple of days Rooms are very decent ones with very limited options in breakfast and dinner - but I guess the same can then be compared with the price paid Although management is good and hotel is located near main market

Booked this hotel for 4 days. it was really a great experience. We were in a group of 12. Staff is really very co-operative and helpful.a wide variety of food served and we all enjoyed delicious food. Everything is perfect except the fact that there is nothing to do at hotel. Only problem is Wi-Fi connectivity. We hardly got connectivity for 1 hour in 4 days stay. Lift is not there which is also a problem.

The service given by the helping staff was really commendable...the rooms were good. the location was away from the main market..could not like the serving style of food..being at such a cold region we expect steaming hot food..but food which was once kept in hot water was served throughout the meals..taste of food was quite ok..expection for wi fi, supply of toiletries, fixed time for room heaters, unavailability of cyber cafe ,feedback forms etc need to be taken care of. Check carefully before checking in..
