We stayed for 2 days during Christmas vacation in this resort. Weenjoyed a lot during our stay.I must say this is one of thebest property in Lonavala. Equipped with all amenities like, indoor games, swimming pool, wifi, Ac and balcony in rooms. Staff is very courteous and helpful, even they arranged cab and auto when required. They serve delicious and varieties of food. Away from market area this is a place to stay to avoid traffic and unnecessary noise. Overall recommended place for your stay in lonavala.
We , a group of 12 adults and 2 children stayed in the hotel in the last week of December 2016 , for three nights
Our stay was comfortable, rooms nice and big,
food variety ,taste and qualitiy very good
staff very coopertive
The porperty is away from the main road ,so no noice and dust etc
swimming pool is also nicely maintained
sufficeient parking space is availlable
Only thing i would like to suggest to please ensure the broken tiles are replaced, the caroom ,pool table , table tennis , all these itmes need to be maintained in a better way , or may be replaced ,
Similarly the furntute in the rooms needs to be maintianed , the cane table and chairs in the balcony are not in good condition
Part of the approach road from main road is in pethetic condition , sign boards are nicly placed and helps in reaching the hotel ,without asking the direction from any body
over all a very satisfying expereince
The property is very much under maintained. The front office staff, hotel manger, house keeping staff all are untrained and highly unprofessional. Not worth the money and you should not pay more than 2,500 a night. The swimming pool was dirty and unusable. I have three stars for the good Resturant service and food.
I stayed there in Jan-2016 for one night with family.
The rooms are fairly large in size with smallish balcony (i was on ground floor).
The Buffet Breakfast is sumptuous and good , I had Lunch in the resort as well, which again was good.
They have smallish restaurant.
My only grudge is the location of the resort and road (kuchha road) leading to the resort is horrible.
I am not sure what else to write apart from what has already been written. However, since this is for the period 25th to 27th December 2016, guests can use it as a latest account.
I would like to use the review to pass on some feedback to the management of the hotel as well as give prospective guests some information, but first for the feedback:
1.] Of the most obvious things is the approach road. The last few hundred meters are in an abysmal condition but I'm not sure the hotel mgmt can do anything about it. I can only assume things to get much worse during the rains.
2.] Many of the tiles outside are either broken or loose, this creates a bad first impression and should be mended.
3.] The water spray next to the commode in our room was on the left hand side. I'm assuming this would have inconvenienced many right handed visitors (as it did me) ... not many would give this feedback either ... but please either move these to the right, or else make the tube long enought to pull it as per the guests convenience.
4.] For some reason, the wifi credentials were changed 3 times in the 2 days I was there, and I had to check with Reception for the new ones.
5.] Your employees are very friendly, please give them name tags so that guests don't have to use 'Hello', or 'Dost' or 'Boss' etc.
6.] Our room (# 213) had a small stool with a small round glass top which had a terrible balance and overturned once and we lost a plate of tasty smelling 'kanda bhajia' ... unfortunately I'll never find out how they tasted! :( If this stool is in other rooms as well pls replace them as they are a hazard.
Hope that the hotel mgmt shall take some steps to address the above points.
On the flipside, this is one of the most peaceful places I've ever stayed in. It is a bit of a drive away from the main road and some people (me included) take that as a boon.
The staff are all very courteous and ready to help and I didn't have any complaints about any of the other amenities.
The food is fairly reasonable in taste but no extra points.
Guests preferring serenity should opt for the hill view rooms i.e. the odd numbered rooms, preferably on the 2nd floor. Those preferring to keep an eye on the kids playing out front should take the even numbered rooms.
The hill view rooms, I'm sure, will be heavenly during the rains. Even in December, the view was really beautiful.
If you intend to this place to be your base, while you visit all the touristy spots in and around Lonavla, then ditch the thought ... however, if you want some peace and quite and uninterrupted communion with nature then Orchard Resort is EXACTLY what you want.
