The worst room I had during 1 month in India,no towels,no soap,no window, hot water didn't work, wifi to weak in my room, the bathroom was dirty, garbage still in the dustbin when I checked in and a lovely mouse was playing under my bed...forget it!
I visited that hotel in November 15 with my friend.
I'm satisfy with that hotel.
At low budget it's a good hotel, fully AC room, cleal bathroom.
Location of that hotel is good, it's near to charbagh railway station.
Finally that was good stay, i want to stay again in this hotel when next time i will go to lucknow.
A very bad experience with this hotel and staff...i was on my recent visit to lucknow and i had to stay for one night....but it was very ugly experience...room not clean...bedsheet untidy...and when asked for blanket the room service man brought it from room opposite to my room from which another guest had just checked out....and told me that he didnt use it...how come that moron came to know that he didnt use it....staff is very uncoperative...NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FAMILY AND COUPLES....VERY BAD PLACE TO STAY
I'm giving the RK International two stars for the room which was quite smart and very comfortable but it has lost stars for several reasons. Firstly, the lack of towels. We arrived quite late (around 11pm) and there were no towels in the room so we asked for some. They said we would have to wait until morning which seemed fair enough. Morning came around and still no towels s we asked again. They said we would have to wait till the evening. After the third time we asked and still didn't get any, we gave up. Luckily we had brought travel towels with us.
Secondly, the food is pretty grim and the chai is undrinkable. We waited 45 minutes for a few slices of toast for breakfast.
Thirdly, I found one member of staff to be rude in a sexist manner. When I tried to order an omelette from the menu, I was told to go back to my husband! I tried standing my ground as I was determined to get an omelette but was repeatedly told to go back to my room and back to my husband. Needless to say, I didn't get an omelette for my breakfast that day. I had one the following day though (when my partner ordered it, of course) and it wasn't worth the hassle.
The location of the hotel is only good for the train station. It is just off a very busy road which has nothing of interest to offer a traveller. Most decent eating establishments are located in and around MG Road so transport is needed to get there and back.
Regardless of which booking site you use to book your room, all the maps are wrong. Do yourself a favor and ring the hotel (numbers on your booking confirmations) and take advantage of their free pick up service (and when they try to get you to pay for it, remind them its free).
However if you choose to walk from the railway station, its about 2km and easy to find. It's just off Latouche Road (which is also called Gautam Buddha Marg road on Google Maps). Another reference point is the Santoshi mata mandir on Google maps. (the reference for RK International on Google maps is incorrect) Once you get to the Hotels Umang and Shirwand you need to take the next left when approaching from the station and you'll find the RK International.
We arrived at around 7am (after 90 minutes of frustrating trying to find the location and giving up and calling them to get the free ride) and were given instant access to our room. Room 206 has a window onto an inner ventilation area, fan and aircon. Flat screen TV, wardrobe and ensuite bathroom. It has its own separate water heater (that you control). The shower does give out hot water but mostly in the direction of the ceiling, so we used the bucket and scoops provided.
We asked for the sheets and pillow cases to be changed on arrival as they had dirty marks on. This was done without question - they changed the duvet cover as well. The second lot still had dirty smudge marks, but appeared to have been laundered. (Im convinced that they just need a good boil wash!!). Towels were clean and toilet paper was provided.
Wifi is available throughout the hotel, but despite a good strong signal there was no internet access during our entire 2 day stay, despite repeated asking if it was going to be working, there was a non commital response.
The hotel and room were clean, water was hot. There's nowhere i'd want to eat around here, although you can walk to Naaz Cinema road (for Tunday's and Wahids food) in 10 minutes, or take an auto to Hazratganz for 100 INR the area around is pretty ropey.
