The town is small so hotels are not very superb here but this particular place is originally a house converted into hotel . Rooms were spacious and clean with all aminities. We loved food here but just need to order before hand. Food is simple and basic .
The only problem we faced is bang on the door in the middle of night which was scary. When we asked in the morning then caretaker accepted his mistake . I dont know what he was doing there .but we left the place in morning.
I have booked two suit rooms in Kanchan recreation for family. The facilities and infrastructure is not worth paying. The rooms are in second floor with no lift. There is no restaurant and you have to place order in advance. The prices are exorbitant. The service is very pathetic and lacking professionalism. The showers don't give mixer of hot and cold water. I would better suggest other hotels where you get good place for the lesser price you put here.
Even though not so luxurious from outside, this hotel was a germ in this small town! we were late to check-in, they called us to make sure we were coming; very simple people there, they greeted us happily; the room was really big, with big washroom; big, flat sreen TV, coffee, tea, sugar, soap etc.. everything you needed for a comfortable stay; they even had a big toothpaste there! since we had to leave early in the morning, they were kind enough to make us breakfast as early as 6:30 AM!!
For the price we paid (about 1400 per night) this was a very good deal, this is not a big professionally run hotel but a small (not more than a dozen rooms) family run hotel. There is a lot of attention to detail and it is located in quieter part of town, parking is ample if you are driving your own car.
There might be small repairs required here and there and you dont have a full blown restaurant (they make everything to order) but those are small issues.
The staff was good, specially appreciate how Vijay the manager handles the guests and property.
Stayed at Kanchan for a night in the last week of December 2018. Its a bungalow converted into a hotel, so the experience is closer to a homestay than a hotel-like feeling. Nothing luxurious here, but nice spacious rooms and a clean bathroom. Chirayu Mittal who manages the property was very informative and helpful. The rest of the 4-5 member staff is also very efficient, courteous and helpful. They helped our driver getting the puncture in the car tyre fixed. A word of caution here for tourists. Although Maheshwar is a small town, there seems to be big-city-like competition among the hotels there. The tyres of our car were punctured, deliberately by staff of some other hotel. Apparently our driver erred and parked a little bit into the slot meant for some other hotel. That apart, the best part of our stay at Kanchan was the food it was just lovely. Fresh and tasty, without being oily, greasy and spicy. Overall, a happy stay for us. If you are looking for a place to stay in Maheshwar, Kanchan is definitely recommended.
